I often find myself suggesting to God all the ways He could surely fix my circumstances. But I’m learning that God loves me too much to do things my way.
His plan is always better even if I can’t understand or see it clearly as it’s unfolding.
Instead of giving up because we feel like we still have so far to go, we can celebrate the small victories!
Big things are built one brick at a time.
Victories are achieved one choice at a time.
A life well lived is chosen one day at a time.
When Jesus says to deny ourselves, he’s not instructing us to have no regard for our personhood.
He’s calling us to reject any “self” we have constructed & protected that doesn’t originate from the center of God’s life.
I cannot put into words how deeply satisfying life with Christ actually is. The vision of being united with him in love, having a sense of
purpose and meaning, a kingdom to prioritize, a way to forgive to free me from bitterness, a lens of reality with which to view the world.
Since God is sovereign and we are not, we will never have the control over people, places and things that we often would like to have, and that is a very good thing, because God is infinitely wiser and more righteous than we are.
A generation without convictions is a generation without transformation. Transformation is not measured by the truth we know but is reflected in the truth we live.
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” — Micah 6:8
I take this literally, friends, very literally.
You may lose things, people may walk away from you, situations may fail, dreams may fade, you may disappoint you, but your Lord will never fail you or turn his back on you, never ever.
Following Jesus means climbing, tripping, dusting ourselves off, and climbing some more. Faith isn’t a business trip walked on a sidewalk; it’s an adventure worked out on a steep and sometimes difficult trail.
Only God can give you what no other person can give you
Only God can be to you what no other person can be to you
Only God can do for you what no other person can do for you
Only God can restore to you what no other person can restore for you
