August 12 | 6:00 PM: This afternoon a transmission line serving the St. John’s area tripped due to the Paddy’s Pond fire. It’s now back online, but smoke, fire, and suppression efforts may cause intermittent issues. No customer outages are expected as a result. 📢 Public Advisory: Evacuation Order Issued by the Town of Paradise for a Portion of the Town of Paradise

The following areas need to evacuate immediately:

ALL properties adjacent to Three Island Pond, including Three Island Pond Road to the intersection of Buckingham Drive, Ellington Close, Angels Road, Hansen Place, Vanellen Place, Dawes Road, Balsamwood Road, Stokes Road and Shalloway Place.

Impacted residents are advised to travel NORTH to Route 60 (Topsail Road), as Peacekeeper’s Way will be CLOSED between Mineral’s Road and the Trans-Canada Highway. Residents that are NOT impacted are requested to avoid the area to minimize traffic congestion.

A reception centre for impacted residents has been established at Admiral’s Academy, 835 Conception Bay Highway (in Kelligrews).

If anyone requires transportation, buses will be available and on stand-by. Search and Rescue and police will be in these areas to assist people who require transportation.
