I know both Ustadh Adnan and MH from back in the day, and I say this with due respect to Adnan:
Private discussion is good, but public errors need public clarification.
When major scholars are refuted, belittled, and spoken about publicly, the correction cannot remain behind closed doors.
The honour of the scholars and the clarity of the public matter.
This lying donkey, @mohammed_hijab claims takfir of the Rafidah is a "radical" view invented by Ibn Abd al-Wahhab, and that even Ibn Taymiyya rejected it.
This is historically backwards. The ruling predates Ibn Abd al-Wahhab by a thousand years:
• Imam Ahmad (d.241): "I do not consider him to be upon Islam" said of one who curses a Sahabi. He said the Rafidah "have nothing to do with Islam." [al-Sunnah, al-Khallal]
• Imam al-Bukhari (d.256): It makes no difference whether he prays behind a Rafidi or a Jew/Christian. [Khalq Afal al-Ibad]
• al-Firyabi (d.212): one who curses Abu Bakr "is a kafir."
• Abu Zur'ah & Abu Hatim al-Razi: the Rafidah "rejected Islam." [via al-Lalika'i]
• Ibn Hazm (d.456): "The Rafidah are not from the Muslims." [al-Fisal]
And Ibn Taymiyya, whom Hijab claims rejected it wrote Minhaj al-Sunnah, the largest refutation of them in history, and ruled in al-Sarim al-Maslul that whoever claims the Qur'an was altered, or that the Sahaba apostatized, his takfir is beyond dispute.
So Ibn Abd al-Wahhab invented nothing. He transmitted a ruling already 1,000 years old
This is the mercy of Islam that cannot be matched by any other philosophy or system.
Only the awareness of God by Quran can make people so merciful.
This man forgave the killer of his son because he realised the killer’s mother was elderly and ill.

The repeated claim that Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab رحمه الله indiscriminately excommunicated Muslims, permitted the enslavement of Muslim women and children, and legitimised unlawful bloodshed is not a light accusation. In the scales of the Shariah, such claims are grave and demand grave evidence. Mere rhetoric, emotional provocation, and recycled polemics are not proof.
Allah جل جلاله said:
يا أيها الذين آمنوا إن جاءكم فاسق بنبإ فتبينوا
“O you who believe, if a corrupt person comes to you with news, verify it.”
Surah al-Hujurat 49:6
And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
كفى بالمرء كذبا أن يحدث بكل ما سمع
“It is sufficient falsehood for a man to narrate everything he hears.”
Reported by Muslim رحمه الله.
This principle alone is enough to expose much of the modern discourse surrounding the daʿwah of Najd.
As for the allegation of unrestricted takfir, then this is from the oldest lies levelled against the Shaykh رحمه الله. Anyone who has actually studied his رسائل knows well that he differentiated between the ruling upon an action and the ruling upon a specific individual. He spoke of إقامة الحجة and إزالة الموانع, and this is the usul of Ahl al-Sunnah, not innovation.
He himself said:
ولا نكفر إلا بما أجمع عليه العلماء
“We do not make takfir except upon that which the scholars have agreed.”
This destroys the claim of indiscriminate takfir.
And this was never unique to him. This was the methodology of Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله, Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله, and Ahmad ibn Hanbal رحمه الله before them.
As for warfare, then let no one distort history.
Najd at that time was not some untouched sanctuary of pristine Tawhid. It was filled with grave worship, istigathah with the dead, vows made to saints, sacrifices for other than Allah جل جلاله, and acts of shirk which the books of fiqh had condemned long before the Shaykh رحمه الله was even born.
Allah جل جلاله said:
وأن المساجد لله فلا تدعوا مع الله أحدا
“And the masajid belong to Allah, so do not call upon anyone besides Allah.”
Surah al-Jinn 72:18
And He جل جلاله said:
اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إله غيره
“Worship Allah, you have no deity besides Him.”
Surah al-Araf 7:59
This was the call of every Prophet عليهم السلام. So when Shaykh Muhammad رحمه الله revived it, he was not bringing something new. He was reviving what had been abandoned.
As for the issue of captives, then this is another dishonest tactic. The ahkam of captives in warfare were discussed by all four madhahib. To isolate historical incidents from tribal warfare and attach them exclusively to “Wahhabism” is deception and academic fraud.
If these people were sincere, they would apply the same criticism to the Abbasids, Ottomans, Ayyubids and Mamluks. But they do not.
Why? Because this is not about history. It is about hostility towards Tawhid. And this is not new.
The same was said about the people of knowledge throughout the centuries.
They said worse about Ahmad ibn Hanbal رحمه الله. They imprisoned Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله. They slandered Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab رحمه الله.
Truth has always been met with hostility. What is interesting is how loud the accusations often come from those in the subcontinent or those living comfortably in the diaspora, many of whom have never once opened the Shaykh’s works directly, yet speak with certainty as if they sat with him. This is not scholarship.
Ibn Sirin رحمه الله said:
إن هذا العلم دين فانظروا عمن تأخذون دينكم
“This knowledge is religion, so look carefully from whom you take your religion.”
For those sincere, leave the noise and return to the books themselves.
Study:
Kitab al-Tawhid. Kashf al-Shubuhat. Al-Usul al-Thalathah. Masail al-Jahiliyyah. Nawaqid al-Islam.
Read them with an open mind and weigh them against the Quran and Sunnah.
If they contradict the Book of Allah جل جلاله or the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ, reject them.
But if they align, then fear Allah جل جلاله regarding your tongues.
Mohammed Hijab EXPOSES crimes committed by MIAW and Wahhabis.
"They designated people as disbelievers. They said it was okay to take Muslim women and children as slaves. They executed people because of this."
A Salafi testament by Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣādiq, devoid of Shi‘i myths and innovations:
“I, Ja‘far ibn Muhammad, advise every believer to be mindful of Allah, to act in obedience to Him, to be content with His decree, to be patient in His trials, to be grateful for His gifts, and to place trust in Him. Written when ten nights had passed of Sha‘bān in the year one hundred and ten (AH).”
Look at the fruits of the Da’wah of Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Abdilwahhab, graves are no longer venerated in Makkah and Madinah (for the most part on mass scale at least), many superstitions have been removed from the hearts of the Muslims and so much more.
Compare it to many lands of the Muslims where shrines are worshipped besides Allah, where people who are considered saints are feared like we should fear Allah, where people do Tawaf around graves and slaughter animals for those in the graves besides Allah
We thank Allah for guiding us away from such practices of Shirk and innovation and allowing the Da’wah of the Sheikh to spread through teachings, da’wah and the force of those imams who support and continue to support it.
The actions of a minority should not lead to the majority being blamed. Innocent individuals should not be subjected to jokes. Among them, as with any group, there are both good and bad people.
