We're getting closer to Mel's reveal in Riftbound Mel nation! 💛
Pre-orders for #RBVendetta starts on July 6th on Riot's website but you can buy boxes from your local card stores too!
Still can't believe whatever weirdo social media manager running this account really thought this bullshit was okay to post. Don't include Mel just to make her a cuck and butt of a joke. @G2League@SKGamingLeague
And to see how much joy it brings these two Pro teams to constantly humiliate a black woman for getting in the way truly makes me wonder about their social media managers racial sensitivity.
The attached video is one of these examples of @riotgames@LeagueOfLegends partners finding joy in the mistreatment of black female characters and it's rather odd to keep playing into this in the year 2026.
A Pro team making fun of black women is rather distasteful especially with how Mel has repeatedly been excluded or made the butt of the joke by Riot and their partners for the sake of another ship. The pattern of leaning into misogynoirist tropes for content is disappointing.
Appreciate the love for Fanart but: that is Astra, not Mel. These are two different black women. Considering the exclusion of Mel in merch and events in the past, this is disappointing to witness regarding the treatment of your black female characters. Please do better.
In the last 6 months every black and south asian champion has either been white washed or had their natural features like nose/lips altered.
It is sad that we are in 2026 dealing with such racism and this keeps happening.
