Photography may be the most rewarding parts of my life. What I love most about long-exposure photography is that it transforms reality into something almost dreamlike. No one knows exactly where you've been, it simply creates a dramatic scene that captures imagination.
Post on-call photography trip.
Nothing better than the sound of flowing water and soft sunset light through the trees after a long shift. #Hiking#NaturePhotography#LandscapePhotography
Great to welcome Prof. Ian Pearce @IPearce82 as the Richard Tiptaft Visiting Professor at Guy’s Urology.
An inspiring and thought-provoking talk on Peyronie’s disease, adding another dimension to our understanding of this complex condition and its impact on patients.
A fitting tribute to Mr Richard Tiptaft — the godfather of Guy’s Urology — whose legacy of education, mentorship, and innovation continues to shape our department.

Kidney cancer care just got a major upgrade.
The NICE 2026 guideline finally gives a full roadmap for RCC, from diagnosis → treatment → follow-up.
⚙️ What changes in clinic:
🔬 Biopsy matters more
• Recommended for small renal masses (≤4 cm) when it impacts decisions
👀 Active surveillance is legit
• Now standard option for selected small tumors + Bosniak 3 cysts
🔪 Surgery still leads
• Remains gold standard for many localized cases
🔥 Non-surgical options
• Ablation / SABR for patients unfit or unwilling for surgery
📊 Follow-up gets smarter
• Risk-adapted imaging instead of one-size-fits-all
👨⚕️ Team-based care
• Strong push for MDT + clinical nurse specialist access
💡 Takeaway
👉 Less overtreatment, more personalization, better structured RCC care
🔖 This will change real-world practice more than most trials.

This week has been a powerful reminder of how clinical care, research, & policy must work together to improve patient outcomes.
Earlier this week I had the privilege of visiting the UK Parliament to contribute to discussions around policy & future strategies for UTI management 1/n
