The foundation of this alliance was laid in 2021 when JAFHS and the KNF signed a written agreement. The details of this agreement reveal a carefully calculated partnership.

According to a well researched report by @PrinceArihan , the alliance between the Kuki National Front (KNF) and the Islamist militant group Jamaat Ul Ansar Fil Hind Al Sharqiya (JAFHS) has raised alarms in counterterrorism circles. The unlikely partnership is a strategic manoeuvre aimed at destabilizing the region, using a combination of religious militancy and political subterfuge to further both groups’ agendas.

One does not have to look far to search for evidence. What has been happening in #Manipur is a well organised campaign to carve out a separate nation, #Kukiland- the dream and the foundation of the formation of KNF.

Every time, #Manipur saw a semblance of peace, the KNF intensified attacks. Some of the major attacks include the incidents mentioned below:

In 2024, for the first time in #India, long range Rockets and Armed Drone attacks were carried out by Transnational Kuki Terrorists. The @NIA_India took over the case and after thorough investigations, top sources confirmed foreign links in attack and once again the key Terrorist group responsible for the attack was confirmed to be KNF. These terrorists were trained in Myanmar and Bangladesh.

In 2025, the @NIA_India took over the case of the #Jiribam Terror attack case, which targeted innocent civilians as well as the @crpfindia stationed in the area for the protection of the civilians, who were already displaced from their original homes after incessant Kuki aggression.

The @NIA_India is also investigating a sOO Cadre Kuki militant called 'Tiger' of the Kuki National Front-P (KNF-P) who, brazenly, took credit for attacking the CRPF and burning homes in #Manipur.

In their lust for #Kukiland, they have indiscriminately killed many innocent civilians and security personnels. On this occasion of #RepublicDay 2025, Manipur honours the 13 brave hearts who sacrificed their lives while saving others.

1/The emergence of Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya, a militant organization with ties to pro-Al-Qaeda extremist groups, sparked concern following the circulation of a video some years back showing its members receiving training from the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).
The foundation of this alliance was laid in 2021 when JAFHS and the KNF signed a written agreement. The details of this agreement reveal a carefully calculated partnership, where Jamaatul Ansar sought not only to secure a safe haven but also to gain the military expertise and local knowledge of the KNF.
The KNF, traditionally a Christian insurgent group operating in Northeast India, has long sought to establish an independent Christian state in the region. However, their alliance with JAFHS, an Islamist militant group with a history of religious extremism, signalled a shift in their strategy. From a counterterrorism perspective, the KNF’s collaboration with JAFHS is less about religious ideology and more about leveraging militancy as a tool to achieve their political objectives.
