Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) dilaporkan telah memperingatkan PM Inggris, Andy Burnham bahwa mereka bisa menarik investasi miliaran pound dari Inggris sebagai balasan atas vonis bersalah Manchester City oleh Premier League.

Dalam lima tahun terakhir UEA disebut menanam investasi lebih dari £30 miliar di Inggris (untuk pertahanan, ilmu hayati, teknologi).

Investasi itu juga dikaitkan dengan kebangkitan ekonomi kota Manchester (Ekonomi kota tumbuh jauh di atas rata-rata nasional, harga properti naik paling tajam di Inggris) yang menjadi modal politik Andy Burnham untuk naik posisi dari wali kota Manchester pada 2017 dan kini sebagai perdana menteri.
