From what I read, the cellphones were just the last straw for them.
They say they feel like prisoners
They come in, they’re patted down, they go through metal detectors, escorted to lunch in a single file line by police.
They don’t have pep rallies or field trips. This policy isn’t the same for other schools in the district just this school.
They say they’re treated like dangerous criminals. They feel like they’re in jail.
Now here’s the stupid thing, to me. The cellphone ban is to “stop” fights. They’re not claiming the kids disrupted school with their phones. Their phones were kept in their clear backpacks. The issue is fights. This is lazy and punitive. BUT THE REAL REASON(IMO) IS THAT THE STUDENTS RECORDED THE PRINCIPAL PUTTING A STUDENT IN A HEADLOCK
I’m curious about liability as well. 2000 students, possibly 2000 phones collected, stored and returned daily. Insane logistics. Let that phone have a crack on it Madison high is buying another one 😂🤣 No one thought maybe to start with infractions, after your 3rd infraction you have to leave your phone up front. Have the student and parent sign an agreement with the first infraction. When you’re punitive and dgaf u punish all instead of just the wrongdoers.
Ngl tho, I probably will support kids demonstrating and protesting about damn near anything because I believe it will aide them in becoming strong adults that don’t just accept the shit so many of us are used to accepting. And plus I don’t think the worst of them. And from working with them and talking to them I actually respect their opinions.
What would’ve been dope is having a separate council since we’re half way through school that comes up with solutions and punishments that the kids create and vote on. You’d be surprised how well children can come up with solutions to children problems. Put a teacher on the council the kiddos respect and like and one the school likes. I’ve never seen a kid not follow a rule they got to negotiate or create🤷🏽♀️
But hey what do I know, I’m just an über Tweeter😬😂
The man in the background is screaming at him “die you son of a whore” in arabic with a heavy hebrew accent. This child is Ahmad Manasra, everybody should know his story.
In what society do you think that you can film yourself humiliating and torturing an entire population and their sons will not vow revenge for their fathers someday?
These are going to be photos that generations after look at in history books wondering how it was every allowed to get to this. It’s just pure, out in the open genocidal imagery.
The most important story of the #BlockCopCity action is not the police aggression, which was expected.
It is the methods and tactics used by protesters to keep one another safe, effectively preventing any arrests or injuries. Let's take a closer look. 🧵
i have never seen this level of direct action in the form of confronting these ghouls in public and i can’t express how much i love it. these soulless fucks have forgotten what the words “public servant” means and they need to be reminded. no justice no peace.
Compilation of genocidal statements from Israeli leaders & officials.
One day this will be evidence in a court of law. The genocidal intent is crystal clear.

this is why i talk about white supremacy culture. the guy at the end said “i don’t think this is the place” while someone is pleading that someone power prevents their family from dying.
that is the self protective culture of white supremacy. the belief of a right to comfort.
