Most of our families are Spanish-speaking, so I call, text, send notes, and conference with them as often as possible! I would also utilize TransAct and ELSA translation services for other languages. #Jefcoedchat

A3: Sentence starters/stems and graphic organizers are great ways to help with writing! Parallel lines, turn/talk, etc. to get speaking/listening practice. I also use lots of pictures, video, and realia (great for all levels). For beginner, I reinforce with their L1. #Jefcoedchat

A2: We welcome CLD students by communicating with families in their native language when needed. In class, I love to include books, activities, etc. that celebrate their culture. It is so important to have both "windows" & "mirrors" to their culture when learning. #Jefcoedchat
