We have Sam Cooke’s granddaughters and Bobby Womack’s nieces still trying to get on. Clearly talented and a shared bloodline. Black music royalty.
Meanwhile, we have Tems singing like a special needs child and acting like that shit sounds even remotely good.
Silly season.
Day 76 of a Lazy Black American:
I microwaved a glass of water for hot chocolate.
I should've dug my own well, harvested my own chocolate and milked my own cow like the 8 year olds in other countries 🤦🏾♂️
Damn‼️Here’s an interview with @daVinchijuste talking about his terrible Haitian parents & how he was a criminal by age of 8, selling drugs & burglarizing homes. But he wants Black Americans to believe they should play our roles because they’re more focused and hard-working. FOH.
Rest in peace to one of the greatest voices in music history, Freddie Jackson.
Freddie was the sound of Black America during an era when Black American R&B was crossing over to mainstream audiences. In his prime, he was right there with Luther Vandross in sales and popularity.
Freddie was also part of that transition into drum machines, synthesizers and programmed production. But his voice was so soulful, and producers like Barry Eastmond and Paul Laurence were so good, they made that new sound feel just as warm as the R&B that came before it.
In an era where the industry rarely promotes love in R&B anymore, we sure could use some Freddie Jackson right now.
Rest in peace to a great one.
Obama is white via his mother and African via his father. He’s not a Black American. We only offered honarary Blackness because we thought his sellout ass was gonna help our community. Instead his gay ass only helped gays and immigrants
We were literally battling white terrorists with one hand and building institutions with the other at the same damn time.
These people are privileged to be able to come here off the strength of the blood that was shed and only focus on school and “working hard.” 🧵
