I’m pretty disappointed in @mathisbrothers. I ordered a rug for my dining room that I fell in love with on first sight. I just got back from a work trip in Chicago, opened the rug yesterday, and it’s too small for the area. (Continued…)

I explained to customer service that I specifically told the young man selling me the rug I would be working out of town while discussing delivery options, and that he never informed me of this policy. They simply said, “it’s on the back of your receipt and that’s our policy.”

I just got off of the phone with customer service. Apparently they have a 7-day return policy on “most” of their products (meaning they don’t accept returns on the rest).

WTF: A woman in court testifying to overturn a Texas law that forced her to give birth to a fetus with no chance of living got so upset she just THREW UP.

THANK YOU Samantha Casiano, for sharing your pain, to help so many others.

But what the Texas AG said in court was insane:

First, they said you and the other 12 women sharing your dangerous experiences of Texas' anti-abortion law are only doing so because you are on an "ideological crusade".

Next, the Texas AG team ADMITTED you were harmed but said it's "in the past".

THEN, when one woman testified about being denied an abortion for her nonviable pregnancy, they had the balls to OBJECT and say her testimony was IRRELEVANT.

I'm so furious right now. My home state of Texas is f**king nightmare.

Join me in thanking these brave 13 women and Center for Reproductive Rights for forcing Greg Abbott's Texas to hear these stories in court.

Because we can't let Republican leaderships lead us back to the middle ages. 👇

This is crazy.

“For 13 thousand dollars, Englishman Brendon Grimshaw bought a tiny uninhabited island in the Seychelles and moved there forever. When Grimshaw was under forty, he quit his job as a newspaper editor and started a new life.

By this time, no human had set foot on the island for 50 years. As befits a real Robinson, Brendon found himself a companion from among the natives. His name was René Lafortin. Together with Rene, Brendon began to equip his new home. While René came to the island only occasionally, Brendon lived on it for decades by himself, never leaving.

For 39 years, Grimshaw and Lafortin planted 16 thousand trees with their own hands and built almost 5 kilometers of paths. In 2007, Rene Lafortin died, and Brendon was left all alone on the island.

He was 81 years old. He attracted 2,000 new bird species to the island and introduced more than a hundred giant tortoises, which in the rest of the world (including the Seychelles) were already on the verge of extinction. Thanks to Grimshaw's efforts, the once deserted island now hosts two-thirds of the Seychelles' fauna. An abandoned piece of land has turned into a real paradise.

A few years ago, the prince of Saudi Arabia offered Brendon Grimshaw $50 million for the island, but he refused. “I don’t want the island to become a favorite vacation spot for the rich. Better let it be a national park that everyone can enjoy.”

And he achieved just that. In 2008 the island was indeed declared a national park.”
