“I am not in favor of making developers register as dealers for writing code--that's a free speech issue. I have concerns around how the SEC will interpret the rule.”

Just leaving this here; in oral arguments. v. Coinbase the SEC is on record arguing a contradictory position.

“Blockchain technology is not the product. It is a tool.”
This letter by @blockproofco is one of the best things I have read in this space. I often revisit it and reread it because it's a big reminder for all builders and it's what we strive to do and focus on with @AnodosFinance.
"We believe blockchain technology needs to be in the background of things. You don’t think about the code running a website when you visit it. Or an app when you use it. You visit a website or download an app because you’re interested, or want, what it has to offer.
Blockchain technology is not the product. It is a tool.
We do not have a technology problem. We have a product problem.
Let’s focus on building products that people want, and using blockchain technology and its advantages to make them more accessible, faster, easier and cheaper to implement".

SEC v. Coinbase
Judge Failla is scary smart and is already showing a deeper understanding of the technology than any Judge I've heard so far (including Judge Torres in the Ripple case).
This is the kind of hearing you got to know your s**t and be on your toes!
Another loss this week for the SEC – the streak continues. The 2d Circuit in SEC v Govil held that the SEC can’t ask for a crippling disgorgement award w/o first proving that “investors” suffered actual financial harm. In other words, no harm, no foul.
