MemoKit 1.4 is finally out 😀

It started as my winning 2024  Swift Student Challenge submission.
The idea: preserve your most meaningful memories by connecting them with songs and music you associate with those moments.
Later, hearing that song can bring the memory back in a much more personal way.

Two months ago, I bought the #VisionPro. Do I regret it? Absolutely not!

For those without a Vision Pro, I’ll be sharing a screen recording of @memokit_app tomorrow.
Even though the app isn’t making much money, I still believe it has the most meaningful purpose (at least for me). Memories + music just work so well together!

So it has been 10 days since the release of my second app @memokit_app.
It was an exciting week.
Gonna summarize it rn:

The basic facts
👁️300 AppStore views
⬇️150 Downloads
⭐️6 Ratings
🤩6 lifetime purchases
📈+150 new followers here on X

Launch Day 🚀
Even though this was my second launch, it was still pretty chaotic...
It was planned to open pre-order much earlier than a week before, but App Review had a bad day/month and so it took more than 20 tries and over 2 weeks to finally get the app approved.
Compared to my last launch everything was a bit more relaxed, of course there were still some minor (but fixable) issues.
I spent the whole day hoping that MemoKit would be featured as a new app in the store, but it didn't work out. Maybe I should have submitted it earlier (I did that 6 weeks before launch)🤔.

Compared to GoalKit's launch 🆚
All the numbers were bigger than GoalKit's, except for the revenue, which was only slightly more, due to two main things imo:
1. Not everyone has Apple Music, so the app isn't useful to everyone (yet).
2. The price to upgrade is a bit higher, there is no subscription and you get almost all the features (just the number of moments is limited to one).

Things I learned 📚
1. Next time (again) don't mess with pre-orders, I still think it would have increased the spike on launch day even more if set up properly
2. Find an alternative to a simple email list. It just went straight to the spam folder, so not even 50% of the people who signed up got any of the emails. Ideas?

What to do now 🤔
I will look for more ways to get the app in front of more people. Last time I tried AppStore ads and failed miserably, same with Twitter/X ads.
Also I will try AppStore Featuring again for a new biiiig feature coming up (when I finally get it to work)
