Secure your device.
Never leave your devices unattended. Password protect your phone or tablet and log off or lock your computer every time you step away. #CyberAware
Use a passphrase or complex password
Social media is all about sharing. If your password is info you shared on social media, such as a pet’s name, it's easy for cyber criminals to guess. Make sure to use a unique passphrase or password for every social media account. #CyberAware
Think before you click!
Watch for suspicious activity that asks you to do something right away, offers something that sounds too good to be true, or needs your personal information. Think before you click. When in doubt, do NOT click. #CyberAware
Don’t connect with strangers
You should never use Bluetooth to connect to unknown, untrusted, or suspicious sources and you should never accept files from these devices.
Keep phone/tablet up to date!
Mobile operating system (OS) updates can include anything from a new version, to a patch or fix to strengthen security, remove bugs, or improve functionality.
Always update devices when prompted or turn on automatic updates if available. #CyberAware
Take precautions when texting:
Don't use text to send personal or sensitive information.
Never open attachments from unknown or untrusted sources.
Never click links or call Ph. numbers in suspicious messages, even if they say they’re from your bank or mobile provider. #CyberAware
Think before you text
