The console version of *Stormlord* lacks something that the original PC versions had: nudity. The game's artwork was censored in the Genesis port.

Or was it? That's right, I found a real live nude code hiding in the game data.

To enter it, pause during gameplay, and...🧵

The Sega Saturn's Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner is hiding a secret debug mode that needs a patch to be re-enabled — so that's just what @memory_fallen did, of course! He examines all of the debug mode's functions in today's Under the Microscope:

I made a patch for *Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner* on Saturn that makes its debug features accessible with Controller 2:
- Warp to any location (L+Z)
- Save anywhere (L+B)
- Alter bit flags (Start+Z)
- Walk through walls (L+C)

and more!

There's a new Hidden Palace podcast episode! This one is an interview with Dr. Mark Eyles about:
* Writing for the UK's Sonic the Comic
* The early ZX-81 and ZX Spectrum gaming scene.
* Designing games in the 1990s for Sega, Rebellion, and others.

And much more!

Here's how the logic that implements the cheat detector looks in Ghidra (I've added labels). The counter variable uses the same memory address as the main menu cheat (C, A, Left, Right, B).

Treasure founder Masato Maegawa once recalled putting a code that spells "baka" into *McDonald's Treasureland Adventure* after getting frustrating feedback.

It's not in the final game, but I found it in *Dynamite Headdy*!

B-A-C-A-↓ makes the Sega logo fall with a boom sound.

[John Harrison - Mega Drive Shock @MegaDriveShock]

A new secret has been found in Dynamite Headdy!

The B-A-C-A code that Maegawa previously mentioned is actually in Dynamite Headdy, not McDonald's TLA.

@TreasureCoLtd これ、何か覚えていますか？

Did Maegawa misremember which game he put the “baka” code in? Or did Headdy inherit from an earlier build of the Treasureland?

I think he misremembered. The code isn't in any version of Treasureland. It's not in the 4/94 build of Headdy, but is introduced in the 6/14/94 build.

- Xbox: (Holding L) A A Y Y X B

Entered during gameplay, the codes make Scooby invincible.

Fumika Suzuki's sizzle reel is included because she is the lead voice actress in the Japanese version of the game.

Disappointingly, she is not the decorated Dr. Fumika Suzuki, professor at the International Center for Elementary Particle Physics.
