Change begins the moment we stop looking away.
When people stop treating #SGBV as “someone else’s issue,” Silence begins to break. Responsibility begins to grow. Communities begin to protect women and girls better.
In Arua City, we brought together participants from the formal and informal sectors, judiciary, and media for a powerful conversation on #womensrights and #SGBV at the workplace under the #BridgingFeministVoice Project.
They listened. They shared. They reflected. They took responsibility. But most importantly, they committed to carry this knowledge beyond the training room into workplaces, homes, institutions, communities, and spaces where women continue to seek safety, dignity, and justice.
This is the kind of change we believe in: change that begins with awareness, grows through courage, and becomes powerful when people act together.
SGBV at the workplace affects dignity, confidence, income, mental wellbeing, productivity, and access to justice. That is why everyone has a role to play.
Be part of the shift. Strengthen workplace policies. Let us build workplaces where women and girls can work, lead without fear.

Happening Now:
@ISERUganda is convening a stakeholder workshop for the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) thematic cluster to shape the civil society alternative report ahead of Uganda’s 4th Cycle Universal Periodic Review (#UPR) in January 2027.
The workshop provides a platform to reflect on progress, identify persistent human rights challenges, and develop evidence-based recommendations to advance economic, social and cultural rights for all in Uganda.

Arua City📍#BridgingFeministVoices Project, we participated in a two day training convened by our partner @MEMPROWUganda on countering Sexual Gender Based Violence in the workplaces. The workshop empowered partners to develop and revisit their safeguarding policies to create a conducive environment for staff. @medicamondiale@ceforduganda
A child should never have to choose between learning and feeling safe.
This week in @pdlgUg, we are engaging 30 teachers in a three-day training on #ViolenceAgainstChildren, the role of teachers in preventing and responding to abuse, and practical ways of creating safe and inclusive learning environments with support from @woman_kind
Teachers are not only educators but also the first adults to notice when a child is hurting, afraid, withdrawn, or unsafe. With the right knowledge, tools, and attitude, they can become strong protectors and responders.
Safe schools are built through everyday action: listening to children, identifying risks early, reporting abuse, supporting survivors, and making every learner feel seen and included.
We call on teachers, school leaders, parents, and communities to make child safety everyone’s responsibility.

#Childmothers need support, safety, mentorship, skills and a community that believes they can rebuild their lives with dignity.
Through our work on climate and livelihoods with young women and child mothers we continue to ensure that empowerment must be practical. It must respond to the real questions child mothers carry every day: How do I care for my child? How do I return to learning? How do I earn? How do I survive climate shocks? How do I dream again?
To parents and caregivers; your support can become the first safe space a child mother experiences. The way you speak to her, guide her and stand with her can either break her further or help her rise.
To schools and community institutions; the systems we build must not punish girls for becoming mothers. They must create pathways back to learning, livelihood, healing, leadership and dignity.
Let us create homes, schools, institutions and communities that support child mothers to learn, earn, heal and lead.
Because when a #childmother is supported, we are not only changing one life. We are protecting two futures, hers and her child’s.

Accountability and evidence are paramount for any organization committed to the people it serves and the partners who believe in its work.
Through the #AnnualReport25, we take a moment of reflection, learning and accountability. It allows us to look back at the work we have done with girls and young women, the change we are seeing, the lessons we are carrying, and the areas where we must continue to grow.
To the girls, young women and communities we serve, this report carries your voices, courage, leadership and lived realities because you are the reason the work matters.
To our funders, partners and supporters, this report is also a reflection of your trust and investment. Your support makes it possible to create safe spaces, strengthen girls’ agency, challenge violence, and nurture young women’s leadership.
We invite you to read the MEMPROW Annual Report 2025, reflect with us, share it, and continue walking with us in building a world where girls and young women are safe, heard, supported and able to lead.

As we honor the memory of the ultimate sacrifice made by the #UgandaMartyrs, we are reminded of the powerful values they stood for: Courage, deep conviction and resilience in the face of adversity.
Happy #MartyrsDay
Proud to celebrate 9 @GirlsFirstFund partner organizations in Uganda graduating in a Leadership Development Program.
Over the past 6 months, I supported them as an Organisational Development Consultant under CHAKAM to strengthen leadership, sustainability &resource mobilization.
Shame has never raised a child, grown food, restored confidence, or rebuilt a future.
However, Support does.
This story of one of the #Childmothers we worked with reminds us that young mothers are not without potential. What they often lack is the support to grow that potential.
In many communities, #Childmothers may be facing stigma, poverty, disrupted education, childcare pressure, and climate stress all at once. So the solution must also be practical, compassionate, and long-term.
They need skills, emotional support, access to land, seeds, knowledge, markets, and people who see them beyond the pregnancy, as young women with dreams, ability, and leadership.
For parents and communities, let us choose support over shame. For funders, invest in programs that connect girls’ agency, livelihoods, and climate resilience.
Remember, their story is not finished.

Digital security is not just about passwords. For women, girls, and feminist organizations, it is about safety, privacy, dignity, and the freedom to organize without fear.
Our phones, emails, social media pages, documents, and online conversations carry our work, our stories, our networks, and sometimes our protection. Yet online violence, hacking, impersonation, data breaches, surveillance, and harassment are often used to intimidate and silence women and feminist movements.
The misconception is that digital security is only for technical experts. It is not. Every woman, girl, activist, mentor, organizer, and feminist organization needs practical digital safety skills.
#Digitalsecurity training helps us protect our accounts, secure our information, recognize risks, respond to threats, and continue showing up with confidence. #Digitalsafety must be part of how we care for movements. Protect the movement.

Group dynamics are not automatic. They are built.
Through the @MemprowGirls, we have seen that when girls and young women come together in a group, people often focus on the activity: farming, training, savings, dialogue, or community work.
But the real transformation often happens in the dynamics. Who speaks? Who is listened to?
Who takes responsibility? Who is left out?
How is conflict handled?
And over time, we have understood that group work is not just about bringing people into one space. It is about creating the conditions for confidence, agency, teamwork, and collective leadership to grow.
The misconception is that young women only need opportunities. Opportunities matter, but without mentorship, facilitation, and safe group processes, many voices remain silent.
That is why our approach invests in mentorship and collective learning. Partner and support our work because we are investing in the relationships, confidence, agency, and leadership that make those activities work.

#MondayMotivation:
Mentorship is not just advice. It is a transformation.
Sometimes, all a girl needs is one person who listens, believes, guides, and reminds her that her voice matters.
At @MEMPROWUganda, mentorship is one of the ways we build confidence, agency, leadership, and resilience among girls and young women. It creates safe spaces where young women can ask questions, learn from others, make informed choices, and begin to see themselves beyond fear, silence, or limitation.
If you are investing in #Mentorship, Do It Everyday without Stopping without stopping

@HerInternet Today’s digital training with Her Internet and our amazing coach Sandra reminded us that cybersecurity is no longer optional
it’s a life skill. In a world where we live, learn, and work online, protecting our data means protecting our future.

Communication is not just about visibility. It is about power, voice, influence, and shifting the way communities understand the realities of girls and young women.
Last week, we participated in a strategic communication training facilitated by @WMSComms, a timely learning space that strengthened our thinking on how to communicate with clarity, purpose, and impact.
As an organisation working to advance girls’ rights, leadership, movements, and agency, we know that strong communication helps movements grow. It helps communities connect with the issues, partners understand the urgency, and decision-makers act with greater responsibility.
We shall continue with a focus on telling stories better, documenting change more intentionally, and communicating in ways that inspire action for girls and young women.
