MRAs do not talk about men's rights in a productive way. They're more concerned with harassing feminists. 2 PhD students here to let them know: that's not ok.
@elonmusk@cleantechnica Wow. What a selfish and transphobic mess of a sentence to say. Nothing we say will convince you it is, but just know that was a bad tweet™.
Seeing a lot of "Women, see what he's saying and doing???" but it's men who need to loudly reject this misogyny. Nothing new here, it's how he treats women who challenge him. There's always been, now growing, a vast gender gap. Most women get it. Men, not women, have to say no.
I want a show like To Catch a Predator except it’s Chris Hansen tracking down incels and reading the disgusting shit they say to women on the internet in front of their families
@Oispammy @RMac18 MRA refers to an abusive, misogynistic online radical cult. They call themselves “men’s rights activists” or Red Pillers. They loathe the very women they desire (but often cannot have), blame women for their inadequacies, believe women enjoy violence.

In case you've ever been confused by the term "toxic masculinity," this is it. These men carry out a version of masculinity that demands they put themselves & everyone around them in danger rather than look "not cool" & "weak." We don't need men to look cool. We need them to care
No-one hates men or holds them back more than Men’s Rights Activists. “You’re only saying that to get her to fuck you mate”, how much respect do you have for your own gender if you think other men fake their principles to get sex?
We've been away from tweeting for a while due to our busy programs, so we forgot just how easy it is to mute bad-faith repliers. Then they get to yell into the void and we never have to see it! Win-win!
@Mindkil66373369 There's a difference between hegemony and academic consensus, and if you're not even on that level of comprehension yet, nothing we say will sink in.
Maybe go to a college and take a class on gender theory. 'Cause we sure as heck aren't being paid to educate you.
Our mentions got a tiny surge because some dudebros found a tweet and they did what MRAs always do: listed some hardships men face but then blamed them on feminism instead of understanding that the root causes are patriarchal hegemony and toxic forms of masculinity.
Predictable.
So, we basically have thousands of ostensibly pro-feminist or at least feminist-leaning people cosigning on inducing survivors guilt in men for not adhering to patriarchal expectations to throw their lives away like action heroes.
It is an important reminder that masculinity(ies) are constructed by culture and that, historically, that construction has often built violence in as a feature.
It highlights how important it is for education on gender theory so we can begin the work of constructing better ones.
"The fact that the majority of violence is committed by boys and men does not mean that men, by nature, are more violent than women. The extent of violence says more about how closely linked violence is to the creation of masculinity." @emancipator_nl@MenEngage#MenCare
A perfect visual metaphor of what we mean when we talk about "fragile masculinities."
When a form of masculinity is easily broken and needs to be protected, there's no better word to describe it than "fragile."
Many of us have been warning about Pick-Up Artists (PUAs) and MRAs for years. Their radicalisation has led to tragedies in the US and beyond.
PUAs specifically train men to use social conventions to violate consent. They're not 'sleazy' or 'chancers'. They are predators.
After this article quoting me on the strain of researching misogyny came out, the neo-nazi Daily Stormer posted an attack on me. It brings home the importance of the work the Institute for Research on Male Supremacism will be doing. Please support us: https://t.co/7AzO6jEL17
