Russia loses access to Argentine lithium as Buenos Aires ends joint energy projects with Moscow.

Argentina and Russia have ended their cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy. All joint Rosatom projects involving the construction of large nuclear reactors, as well as land-based and floating nuclear power plants, have been canceled, according to Russian media reports.

It is reported that the projects were initially suspended due to Argentina's prolonged economic crisis and were later permanently scrapped after the country shifted its foreign policy toward the West.

In addition to the nuclear projects, Russia has also lost access to Argentina's Tolillar lithium deposit, which Rosatom's subsidiary Uranium One had planned to develop.

Lithium is a strategically important raw material for the defense industry, electronics manufacturing, and the aerospace sector.
