Oct 3 (Reuters) - The co-pilot of flydubai flight FZ1073 attempted to carry out a "terrorist" attack during the flight, the United Arab Emirates prosecutor general said on Saturday, according to the state news agency WAM.
The co-pilot attacked the pilot inside the cockpit with an axe and attempted to take control of the aircraft, the prosecutor general said.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident, the motives and any related connections, as well as to examine physical and digital evidence, he added.
A story: I flew to Baghdad with a small team of @wsj colleagues last month to write a story about the end of the official U.S. military presence in Iraq and how the American attack on Iran has destabilized the country. 1/
I dont disagree with this view, but frankly, Washington and Khartoum are now trapped in a cycle of litigating their differences through the press. It's not the first time it has happened and it never results in progress. Time now for some quiet diplomacy. https://t.co/c9ns5rNdix

I’ve seen NAZA. It is not about Gaza or even about IDF rules of engagement. It is 100% a film about Israeli society. It is about how the most liberal, educated and enlightened socioeconomic elites among us could carry out such mass killing, some even while being well aware of it.

Took off from Riyadh to London not long before this happened. Think I've said this before but it seems like sheer luck that we haven't had a real tragedy with so many missiles and drones zooming around Middle Eastern airports this year

I will not defend the phenomenon of Israelis winning awards for films about the suffering of Palestine; It feels like a terrible insult, and I share that feeling.
But know this: there are Israelis who are pure-hearted and pained and insulted to the roots of their existence by the shame of the apartheid and genocide. They are a very small minority - a fraction of Israeli Jewish society - but they exist, and they are some of the best and most committed people you'll meet.
I know Rachel from some work we did together year ago, and I will vouch for her conscience with my life. And she is a phenomenally gifted and sensitive photographer.
Palestinians need to be the ones telling their story, and the world must hear them first and foremost. But some Israelis resist and hate the racism and privilege of Zionism like some white people hated apartheid is South Africa, and like some white Americans marched for black liberation.
It is not easy to accept, I know. But life is not always simple and clearcut this way. The small minority of Jews and Israelis who abhor Zionism are not you enemy, and not humanity's enemy; they are your partners.
InshaAllah, in years to come, justice will be done with Palestinian talent and ownership of the the Palestinians story as well, smack at the center of the world stage, the way it should be. I personally long for this day, and see it as inseparable from the liberation of Palestine and Palestinians
