most salespeople wait for the buyer to say No, then work really hard trying to turn it to a Yes.
i’d rather beat them to the No. here’s why:

Once the family is set, there is a huge sigh of relief. You can take on endless risk once this is done. If you go bankrupt, they won’t even know. That’s the life hack. Give your wife and kids everything and then go crazy for your dreams.
@natolisnuggets This is awesome dude. I try to encourage all my friends to get married if they’re telling me she’s the one. No need to wait, it’s the best thing ever. Insane that people put this off due to societal “norms”.
@BowTiedSalesGuy Took me a while to have the confidence to go off script due to pressure to stick to the framework; and when I did I earned my managers trust forever
elite salespeople are connected to their emotions when they sell.
your emotional system is constantly feeding you information: tension. curiosity. frustration. a sense that something doesn’t add up.
those feelings/sensations literally give you conversational threads to pull.
if you’re stuck in your head thinking about what you’re “supposed” to say next, you’re missing what is happening right in front of your face.
it has nothing to do with the animation itself, but with the fact that we live in an era where everything is optimized for volume
when your only goal is more output, the craft and art themselves have zero importance, or much less than before. byproduct of the attention economy
The only other person who’s ever made me this excited about a product unveil was Steve Jobs. Watching him introduce the first iPhone is a huge part of why I fell in love with technology.
Elon brings that feeling back for me, but honestly, I think he takes it to a whole different level. Tomorrow, he and the Tesla team are unveiling the next-gen Roadster, and I seriously cannot wait.
The Roadster they showed in 2017 already promised 0–60 mph in 1.9 seconds. Since then, Elon has talked about a Tesla–SpaceX collaboration, having it fly, and getting that time below ONE second, and calling it “the least interesting part” of the car.
How do you say something like that and expect me NOT to be excited?!
But beyond how fast it goes, I want to see something that makes me sit there and say, “Wow… how in the world did they build that?” I honestly don’t know what they’re going to show us, and that’s part of what makes this so much fun. I really want to be surprised and see the unthinkable.
These days I feel many older people don’t get that excited about things… I only see that spark in kids. But imo, we should still get excited about people building cool things. We should still root for the nerds, engineers, and designers trying to do something that has never been done before.
And I hope there’s a kid watching tomorrow who feels what I felt watching Steve Jobs introduce the iPhone. Someone who sees this car and starts wondering how it works, sketching their own ideas, or thinking about what they could build someday.
I hope y’all are ready to have your minds blown.
I’m rooting for you, Elon, and the entire Tesla team behind this car.
Go give us a night we’ll never forget!
