When I was playing pro baseball, I saw Ichiro Suzuki in the cage doing something I'd never seen before.

His coach was bouncing the baseball to him instead of throwing it.

So I asked:

"What's that drill for?"

He said:

"To stay back."

At the time, I was getting jumpy.

Lunging forward.

Trying to get to the baseball too soon.

So I tried it.

And immediately realized something:

You can't cheat the bounce.

If you drift forward early, you'll either miss it or hit it poorly.

The drill forces you to stay balanced, let the ball travel, and hit from a stronger position.

I've used it ever since.

Sometimes the best drills aren't complicated.

They're simple drills that expose a flaw and force you to clean it up.

@SkersNews Generally speaking, most if not all practices are closed to the public. You cannot just walk into practice any day of the week. With that being said, what's the concern? I think most fans would be surprised with the limited access people currently have.

Dear Undrafted Free agents,

I know this isn’t what you wanted. These moments aren’t the ones you dreamed of. You’ve dreamt of being the number 1 pick, hearing your name called by the commissioner, getting that phone call from your new head coach asking if your ready to fulfill your nfl dream… well that wasn’t meant to be your story. 

You balled in college, you were one of the best players on your team but still the phone didn’t ring.

Your story doesn’t have to end here. You still have others chapters, You just need to remember, you are your own author. You can still make a team, win a Super Bowl, maybe you won’t be a hall of famer, but you can star in a lot of Hall of fame stories. 

They need you. in fact, They’re more of us than there are first rounders. You just have to believe in you. Wipe the tears, flip the page and get back to the drawing board. It’s time to get a damn job. You never know you may look back 22 years from now and be on a stage, with people who were actually drafted themselves, yet, you’ve done so much along the way, that no one remembers that you didn’t get that call this weekend… your clock starts now… Even if it didn’t go the way you wanted. You got this. I look forward to telling your story… see y’all on the other side.
