ATTN Parents: I get asked this ALL THE TIME. I was a multi sport athlete until college, extremely low mileage. Don’t be afraid to say no to practices 5x a week, to all those camps and tournaments. Let your kids be kids and play lots of things. Plenty of time to specialize later!
Me - "On Flashback Friday for Spirit Week you can dress like you're from any decade.. tie-dye for the 60s would be cool!"
Rory - "Can I be from the 1200s and wear buffalo hide?"
Well obviously when I said my New Year’s resolution was to run every day I didn’t literally mean every day so it’s unfair to say I’ve already screwed up.
Have we listened to the #astarisborn soundtrack too many times if "black eyes" is already my boys' favorite song and we can't do morning drop off without air drums and guitar in the car?
I always tell young athletes to “run your own race.” I was so good at it as a pro runner, I’m just now learning how to do it in real life. Stop worrying about other people and RUN YOUR OWN DAMN RACE! On the track and in life.
