_Repost to help someone discover this opportunity._
I landed my first Data Analyst role 4 months after I started learning.
I didn't apply for the role. They found me.
And it wasn't because I was a genius. It was because of one specific habit I started in the first month.
Here is the mistake most beginners make:
Last week, I watched my neighbour chasing a chicken for 15 minutes.
Every turn the chicken made, she followed.
Every wrong move she made, the chicken corrected.
At some point I realised, the chicken wasn’t running.
She was teaching.
And that’s when it hit me:
People in tech do the exact same thing.
We keep chasing people with knowledge they’re not ready to catch…
because we’re delivering it in a form they don’t understand.
Cybersecurity is the same.
We throw jargon, frameworks, and acronyms at people who are still trying to understand why their WiFi keeps disconnecting.
We tell them about zero trust when they don’t even trust their own password.
That’s why I don’t want to influence cybersecurity in the traditional way.
I’m a natural storyteller.
The moment I understand anything technical, my empathy immediately starts shaping it into analogies.
I don’t even force it, my brain just asks, “How would a regular person get this?”
Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
As a mum, I’ve taken it even further:
If I can’t explain something to a toddler, then I’m the one who hasn’t understood it yet.
Life has trained me.
Motherhood refined me.
Cybersecurity gave me the playground.
I’m still a work in progress but simplicity has become my superpower.
So that’s the reason behind that post.
I want to make cybersecurity feel human.
Relatable.
Memorable.
Something you understand without feeling small.
Anyone can teach encryption.
But can they make you feel it?
That’s the space I’m building.
That’s why I said what I said.
Good morning, data nerds.
Tired of Kaggle?
Here’s a fun beginner project that forced me to think differently:
Export a WhatsApp group chat
Transform, clean & load it into your favorite tool
Analyze the patterns
You’ll thank me later.
