Every economist agrees that both taxes and tariffs can cause increased prices for consumers, it’s logical. The difference with tariffs is that it causes foreign businesses to lose more than domestic businesses. The United States is the largest consumer market so foreign businesses losing more will eventually cause them to onshore production to avoid tariffs. This will eventually lower prices for consumers while also creating jobs in our economy.

Taxes not only increases consumer prices, they also make domestic businesses consider offshoring production to countries with lower tax rates. Another logical conclusion for any corporation and economist.
