Dear @JDMahama,
I understand you’ve just taken office and may not yet be aware of our situation. There are 320 pharmacists, including myself, who were posted to various hospitals nationwide for our mandatory housemanship from July 2023 to July 2024.
We worked diligently throughout the year but have not received clearance, let alone our salaries/allowances. Despite all efforts to engage the previous government to pay us what we are due, we received no positive response. As a result, we had no choice but to take the matter to court, with the first hearing scheduled for Monday, 27th January 2025.
As the honest and empathetic leader we know you to be, we kindly appeal to you to look into this matter and help ensure that we receive what is rightfully ours.
Thank you, Sir.

Why are we like this? What’s the crime of these young men & women? Those are stories I did and spoke to those in charge yet nothing!
Would these same leaders failing to act be happy if their salaries delay? Ah!
How insensitive could we be? It’s unacceptable!
They’ve worked tirelessly, providing essential healthcare services for a full year without a single allowance paid.
Pay the Pharm D House Officers!!!
Dr. Amoakoh, I will not allow you to continue gaslighting us and insulting our intelligence, we have had enough of that. We are not dumb!
1. In your own words, “Some of the PharmD doctors have not been paid, the last batch, some of their allowances have not been paid, it wasn’t their salaries”. This is you insinuating that our salaries have been paid, it’s just left with allowances which is FALSE.
2. For your information, the last batch you referred to is Rx’22, the batch I’m a part of, the batch owed one full year salary (allowances).
3. Let me state emphatically that no one from the ‘last batch’ you referred to has been paid any form of salaries (allowances). The government does not even have our bank account numbers. In fact, we still do not have any form of clearance.
4. So you LIED about that.
5. I can see that, until today, you clearly did not know that for the PharmD house officer, the salary is the same as the allowances. We do not receive allowances separately from salaries. (Allowance = Salary). YOU LIED!!
6. You claim you were not referring to us but our Senior pharmacists, did any senior pharmacist come out complaining of salaries? Do you think we are some kids or what?
7. See everyone makes mistakes, just accept that you were wrong and stop trying to twist this whole thing. It’s boring.
The background and trajectory of events leading to government’s failure to pay Rx 2022 house officers. This was 5 months back and the story is the same.
They are not asking for too much. Just pay what is due them.

We’re still on this!! Doctors of Pharmacy have still not received even a month’s allowance after completing their mandatory housemanship.
The Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP Dr. Bawumia says he’s not aware of their struggles and their unpaid allowances.
Tomorrow, join.
