What fantastic symposium!!
Thank you so much to all of the speakers (@DrSbrummelte@MeredithEGamble & James Swain) and to everyone who attended!
And a special thank you to Liz Byrnes for guiding me through the planning process and @IBNSconnect letting us share our work π
π¨ check out our newest work from @MeredithEGamble & @Diaz_Lab_BU extending our understanding of prenatal opioid exposure showing long lasting reductions in adult neurogenesis and associated behaviors in rats - effects primarily observed in females! https://t.co/8Q4aJ0ej6s
Itβs finally #IBNS2023 Day 1!!! π
Catch me in Symposium 5 tomorrow (Monday, 2-4 pm in Strategy Room B) with my co-chair Liz Byrnes and fantastic fellow speakers @DrSbrummelte@MeredithEGamble and James Swain
Stop by for great science and discussion β¨ @IBNSconnect
Friendly reminder that you can make intro slides for SUD talks without including direct cues (ie realistic images of alcohol, pills, needles)
As a field, we know about cue-induced reinstatement. A lot of SUD researchers had an SUD themselves and this is the least we can do.

@Diaz_Lab_BU is recruiting a motivated and strong postdoc to work on 2 potential projects: 1) prenatal alcohol effects on anxiety circuitry across ontogeny and 2) combined prenatal alcohol & methadone exposure on affective behaviors and associated synaptic plasticity.
Congrats to Dr. @MeredithEGamble for getting 2nd place in the @binghamtonu Art of Science competition (visualizing the unseen category) with her capture of GFAP expression in the hippocampus π π π₯ππ π
