The book’s central claim is simple; Christianity did not emerge from Rabbinic Judaism as a sister faith and does not share a continuing covenantal framework with post-temple Judaism. Christianity is the fulfillment and replacement of the Mosaic order in Christ, and Rabbinic Judaism is a rival religion that explicitly rejects Jesus as Messiah and Son of God. Treating the two as spiritually aligned is neither charitable nor accurate.

We trace the historical origins of the term “Judeo-Christian” to the mid-20th century, showing that it did not arise from church history or theological consensus but from political necessity. The phrase was popularized to unite Protestants, Catholics, and Jews against Nazism, later repurposed during the Cold War, and eventually weaponized in modern American politics to demand Christian support for Israel and suppress theological disagreement. Appeals to “shared values” collapse under scrutiny once the doctrinal claims of Judaism about God's Law is taken seriously, and we reveal what values the Talmud actually teaches. We argue that Christians are routinely asked to affirm a false unity by downplaying or ignoring these irreconcilable differences.

A major theme of the book is the moral pressure placed on Christians to subordinate theology to politics. We show how evangelical leaders, institutions, and donors have treated criticism of Israel or Judaism as a moral taboo, often branding dissenters as hateful or dangerous rather than engaging their arguments. This pressure has produced a culture of fear, silence, and double standards within evangelicalism.

Importantly, The Hyphenated Heresy is not a call to hostility or persecution. It explicitly rejects ethnic hatred, violence, and collective guilt. Instead, it calls Christians back to the clarity of the gospel, insisting that genuine love requires honesty, not theological flattery. The book argues that pretending Jews are already in covenant with God apart from Christ is not compassion but abandonment of the Great Commission.

Our conclusion is unpopular, but both timely and timeless: Christianity loses itself when it accepts the hyphen. The church cannot preach Christ crucified while affirming a parallel covenant that denies Him. The choice is not between kindness and truth, but between faithfulness and confusion.

In short, The Hyphenated Heresy is a theological intervention aimed at dismantling a modern lie that has reshaped evangelical politics, distorted Christian doctrine, and replaced gospel proclamation with civil religion.
