@Faith2Escape @anije_@antii_s0cial the reference to her own movie she’s campaigning for? We just wanted a positive reaction, are the British too uppity for that 💀??
@alexislovesyuxD@CynBabyErivo From an actress that has talked down about black americans via tweets? I understand why some of the black community might still hold grudges about that, and this is the NAACP 🙃 IDK why this is surprising, and Kerry is lovely.
@sa_oi_rse@LucaGuadagnegro@sevenangryeyes One does not have to be British to teach at Cambridge, babes. International students exist and UK higher education needs them lol
@e_asherah @bergamot_0range Converting the student visa into a working visa if you decide to stay is also notoriously difficult, bc eventually you’ll have to get a job to sponsor you.
@e_asherah @bergamot_0range It’s a great school, but bc the program is one year (any one year program) I haven’t heard good things about it being taken seriously in the States. If you ever come back, that might make things difficult. Not to mention the cost associated with the visa, living, etc.
@RomanNumeralXXI @TLTM32@GregShickle But it’s the first photo. No doubt the BBC knows that Google will pull the first photo of the article to display in search and on their website, so why not use it as the second photo so you don’t confuse your audience? It’s intentional, to drive clicks and a false narrative.
@ardent_guru@MattForner@tammybaldwin We need to get back to teaching people how to think critically and analyze information because the only reason people are screaming about this turnout is because their politician said it was fishy, and people can’t be bothered to fact check before spouting off.
@ardent_guru@MattForner@tammybaldwin Considering how much of this election has proven that people don’t do any research even if well advertised, I worry any campaign to scream about same day registration will end up with the law up on the chopping block in the name of “election security”
@ptwearnhardtfan@WisVoter You have a massive Black community, several different mixes of immigrant communities, stuff that other cities/counties don’t have that make canvassing complex & require more work to understand their politics. Just means Hovde didn’t resonate with them, which doesn’t surprise me.
@ptwearnhardtfan@WisVoter I take it you don’t live in Milwaukee. It’s been this way for over a decade, and Milwaukee has been voting overwhelmingly Dem for a bit now. Milwaukee has too many cultural nuances to start comparing it to other cities/counties. It’s apples to oranges.
@ptwearnhardtfan@WisVoter Uh, people have to apply, so it’s not a matter of hiring if people aren’t biting at the bit to work & train for ~$250 into the late hours of the night on Election Day. They’d probably love more workers, so why don’t you apply for your local commission for February’s election?
@MattForner@tammybaldwin WI allows same day voter registration, so even if there was “200%” turnout, the percentage can easily go past 100%, considering the percentage is based off of existing voters registered, not same day. These are really basic things that can be easily researched and debunked.
@ptwearnhardtfan@WisVoter MKE has always leaned Dem and the amount of absentee ballots being filled out has been going up over the years, hitting 100k in 2020, so why Hovde felt comfortable by 1am about the result is wild knowing that cities left at that point were either Dem strongholds or wild cards.
@ptwearnhardtfan@WisVoter Absentee ballots cannot be counted until Election Day. There were some ~100k absentee ballots, so uh, it was going to take awhile, and with no breaks. There was a bill to allow ballot processing before Election Day, but died in WI Legislature…
@TomP1Bellingham@Taylor_Rae_33 call up the box office to make sure you can pick up the tickets, just to save a trip just in case. And see if there is a support number listed on the email with your ticket link, there should be someone you can contact and tell them you’re having issues with the system.
@FaramaObscena@TheGymQuinn If you read the filing, it literally states they were mistyped/they were one or two letters off, which isn’t something a fed should miss if they are providing them. Sans that, the court literally got bounce back messages saying these weren’t reachable emails. Excuses much?
@69Rammathus @SandraK113 Sabrina’s mom-coach didn’t inquire about her OOB when she submitted an inquiry to the jury, and CAS doesn’t rule on field of play decisions, which her inquiry is. CAS already ruled on this, but they are appealing. If it’s not thrown out, the integrity of sports is on the line.
@FaramaObscena@SandraK113 The rules are written terribly in a way that leaves too much room for that scenario, or deliberately “not hearing” to screw you over. But this evidence proves that they made an attempt to verbally inquire, so the court should account for the delay between that and input.
What’s been particularly frustrating is watching parts of the gymternet refuse to acknowledge that CAS, like any other court, gets stuff wrong. Case decisions/court opinions are not written 100% objectively and unbiased. It’s what they say, but ALSO what they didn’t say.
Whatever your position on who deserves bronze, I would hope you could be objective and reasonable enough to understand that it was incredibly unfair to both hold a hearing w/o affording USA even 24 hours to prepare, & then strip an innocent athlete of a medal previously awarded.
CAS has its day of reckoning coming too. There are a growing number of people and organizations that want it reformed and much more transparent. They just need to piss off the right people. Has that happened? Time will tell.
