As we celebrated America’s 250th anniversary last weekend, I hope we all remembered that our freedom was made possible by the brave men and women who have served this nation.

I was honored to spend time with these World War II heroes before the festivities. They truly are the Greatest Generation, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.

Sure, we lost to Belgium tonight. That was a bummer.

But this moment made me proud.🫶🏻

Win or lose, these men gathered together as one team and bowed their heads in prayer. That's something bigger than soccer. That's a freedom so many countries don’t have, including some countries who were represented in the World Cup. May it be a freedom we never take forgranted in America.

No scoreboard can measure the value of a team that isn't afraid to acknowledge God before the world. 🙏🏻

Sports are temporary. Nations rise and fall. But our hope has never been in a trophy. It's always been in the Lord. 🙌🏻
