At the time of this writing, the market just went through one of the biggest pullbacks in a while. We know, overall optimism isn't all the best right now. You're probably getting honked at during a greenlight in your car as you're absorbed in your phone hoping for your portfolio to bounce.

But us? We're not waiting around. We're doing stuff.

As we mark the one-year anniversary of SEIYAN, it's incredible to reflect on how a simple joke aimed at renaming the Sei community from "Seilors" to "Seiyans" evolved into one of the strongest communities on the Sei Network. Let’s take a look back:

1. BIRTH: During the initial rising interest in Sei Network, $SEIYAN was born—but not without challenges. Contract snipers dominated the launch, resulting in a dramatic rise and subsequent collapse of the token on the same day. Despite these setbacks, dedicated volunteers in Discord joined the SEIYAN team, demonstrating the truly organic nature of this community-driven project.

2. ASCENSION: Despite the rocky start, SEIYAN began its upward journey. Over the next several months, SEIYAN drove significant trading volume, at times exceeding the combined volume of all Cosmos tokens on-chain. During this period, SEIYAN delivered vital tools for the Sei v1 CosmWasm environment, including an airdropper tool, token minter, Discord token gater, Discord tip bot, Telegram trading bot, and more.

3. ACCUMULATION: After the initial excitement, SEIYAN, along with the broader market, entered a prolonged downturn. Sei v2 came and went with little fanfare, but this period tempered SEIYAN through challenges. While some community and team members left, those who remained proved to be the strongest believers—true "diamond hands." This necessary phase allowed us to discover our gems.

4. REDEMPTION: SEIYAN maintained its position as the largest non-stablecoin token (excluding $SEI) by market cap, liquidity, and volume. This influence allowed us to unify the ecosystem, gathering other memecoins to launch the Seiyan Superfrens Memecoin Madness. This initiative revitalized interest in memecoins and trading, solidifying SEIYAN's role as a leader and orchestrator of the Sei Network's memecoin ecosystem.

5. EXPANSION: Our mission continues to evolve SEIYAN into more than just a meme-based community. Last month, we introduced SEIYAN governance, enabling staked SEIYAN to vote on proposals that improve the community and fund initiatives through a community-driven treasury. This step further cements SEIYAN’s leadership within the Sei ecosystem.

MOVING FORWARD
Our goal is to scale SEIYAN by enhancing the value of community governance and providing rewards for SEIYAN governance stakers. Increasing the value of staked SEIYAN generates more revenue for the treasury, which can then fund initiatives that further benefit stakers. These initiatives include:

1. Building tools, protocols, and campaigns to strengthen the Sei ecosystem.
2. Influencing developments through SEIYAN governance.
3. Boosting SEIYAN’s interest towards volume and trading revenue to grow the core and governance treasury.
4. Using the treasury to enhance SEIYAN governance and reward both voting and staking participants.

PLANS FOR THE CORE SEIYAN TREASURY

1. Treasury Assistance Council: We are dedicating $100,000 to a special fund for initiating buybacks or replenishing the governance treasury (currently holding 50k SEI). "Super Seiyan IV" role holders on Discord (https://t.co/fcQiPkNbxi) will serve as an advisory council, helping to recommend when and how this fund should be deployed.

2. xSEIYAN Yield Farms: $160,000 is currently allocated to yield farming strategies on Sei, including recursion yield arbitrage and delta-neutral hedging, generating an impressive 135% APR. To simplify DeFi participation for our community, we will introduce seasonal yield pools funded by these strategies. Participation caps will ensure high yields, with priority given to active governance participants.

We have a range of additional products in development to fulfill our mission of becoming the cultural onboarding brand for the Sei Network. By leveraging our influence, we aim to continue shaping the Sei ecosystem and look forward to an exciting 2025.
