Doctor Doom is not the villain of Doomsday but the consequence of Endgame.

"All of these people have lived stolen lives. Now they must give them back."

That one line from Doctor Doom changes everything about what Doomsday is actually about.

Sue Storm confirmed it herself Doom used to be different, kind and caring. Until everything he loved was taken from him.

So what does "stolen lives" actually mean?

When Steve Rogers went back in time and lived a life he was never supposed to have. A wife. A child. Decades of peace.

The Fantastic Four crossed over from Earth-828 a universe that was never supposed to intersect with Earth-616.

The Fox X-Men exist in a timeline that was supposed to end kept alive by Loki holding the Sacred Timeline together.

Every hero in Doomsday is living in a reality they technically should not occupy.

People existing in timelines and realities that were never meant for them are the source of every Incursion destroying universes.

Doom's plan is not conquest.

It is correction.

Force every stolen life back to where it belongs and the multiverse stabilizes.

Steve loses Peggy. The Fantastic Four lose their universe. The X-Men lose their timeline.

Reed grabbing Doom's shirt and screaming "Answer me Victor, did you do this?" is not just anger.

"One day you will forgive me."

He is asking his someone who he loved to forgive him.
