Listening to yesterday’s Empire episode and wondering if @DalrympleWill would like to start a family pod with Sam. So much fun and knowledge right there! 😊🎄
@TheRestHistory One of my favourite series in 2025 was about Great Northern War. A delightful discovery from Sweden - Charles XII’s field book has just been found, several chapters of which were written before/about the battle of Poltava.

@holland_tom@dcsandbrook As a sleep and book deprived young mother, I cannot thank you two enough for your amazing podcast. Pushing the pram is never dull when you discuss mustachios or 19th century American names!
@holland_tom@TheRestHistory Thoroughly enjoying this series! As an Estonian married to a Swede, I might be slightly biased lol. But just so glad you have finally come to my neck of the woods!
Here’s a pic of the summer cottage Peter built for his Catherine in Tallinn.
@BasedZillenial Marriage means that you get to hang out with your favourite person every day. At least that’s my experience. It is, indeed, lovely and fun. 💖
@EmpirePodUK@tweeter_anita@DalrympleWill Slightly off topic but Philippe Sands’ other books - especially East West Street and The Ratline - are also wonderful! I heartily recommend.
@courtneyellis@ivpress Thank you for Looking Up! I’ve been reading it while nursing my newborn and grieving afresh for my mother who never saw her grandchildren. ❤️🩹
@JennMGreenberg I like the parenting advice “Don’t react. Respond” in this context. There’s time to respond calmly to needs and worries in the light of the Gospel. There, however, is no need to react to every sensational thing from the pulpit. That’s Twitter business.
Võrdleme Eesti ja Rootsi diislihindu - et äkki tasub ikka paak kodus pilgeni täis tankida, enne kui Eestisse puhkusele tuleme. Tuleb ehk odavam. Selline elu siis. 🤷🏼♀️

@bonhoefferchild I always think about Peter swinging his sword in this context. Jesus was very clear that night - this is NOT how you build/defend His kingdom. The only Kingdom way is the way of love and sacrifice.
@NMzozoyane 1. Notice how he treats his mom.
2. Don’t marry a life-long money problem.
3. Both of you, keep your hobbies.
4. Learn each other’s love languages.
5. Make a difference bw what is important, what isn’t. Let the small stuff go. When it’s important, say it.
@MagSandusky My graduation photo from 10 y ago (MA in Theology). I never received from my classmates anything but respect, care, and love. No-one was threatened by my presence. Some of them are still dear friends and colleagues in pastoral ministry. 🧡🙏🏼
