সরকারের পূর্ণ সমর্থন থাকা সত্বেও পুলিশ কার্যালয়ের ভেতর প্রবেশ করে কর্তব্যরত পুলিশ কর্মকর্তাকে এভাবে লাঞ্ছিত ও শারীরিকভাবে আক্রমণ করা অত্যন্ত নিন্দনীয়। পুলিশ রাষ্ট্রের অপরিহার্য প্রতিষ্ঠান, ৫ই আগষ্টের আগের পুলিশ এবং ৫ই আগষ্ট পরবর্তী পুলিশের তফাৎটা বুঝতে পারা জরুরি। নিজ জীবন হুমকির সম্মুখীন জেনেও এই কর্মকর্তারা দেশের জনগনের জানমাল এবং আইন-শৃংখলা রক্ষায় এগিয়ে আসছেন। কোথাও কোন অপরাধ সংগঠিত হলে মুহূর্তেই পুলিশ হাজির হয়ে যাবে অথবা তদন্ত না করেই কাউকে আটক করবে এমনটা দাবি করার কোন সুযোগ নেই। বর্তমানে দেশে প্রয়োজনের তুলনায় পুলিশ সদস্যের সংখ্যাও অপ্রতুল। পুলিশের সাথে সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীদের আচরণ মোটেও কাম্য নয়।

গতকাল বিকেলের এই ঘটনা আবারো সামনে নিয়ে এসেছে ছাত্রদের উগ্র ব্যবহার এবং তা কিভাবে বিভিন্ন সরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে তাদের মুখোমুখি দাঁড়া করাতে পারে — এমন স্পর্শকাতর একটি বিষয়।
