🚨 @AbiyAhmedAli regime ZU-23 attack in Amhara region injures six civilians, including one-year-old child and 70-year-old elder
At least six civilians, including a one-year-old child and a 70-year-old elder, were seriously injured after ENDF forces carried out a ZU-23 anti-aircraft gun attack in Qontir Kebele, Hulet Eju Enese Woreda, Gojjam, at around midday on September 2nd, 2026.
According to sources on the ground, the ZU-23 fire struck civilians while they were inside their homes. Four of the injured were identified as Bizualem Assema, Dasash Beyewalehu, Mitike Bizuayehu, and Abahoy Chebe. Two additional victims have not yet been identified by name.

URGENT: Humanitarian Appeal for Amhara Civilians and Survivors in Ethiopia
Dear Humanitarian Assistance Team,
Please do not ignore this appeal.
I am writing with a broken heart and a sense of desperation after years of watching Amhara civilians in Ethiopia endure violence, displacement, loss and abandonment. The scale of the suffering is immense, with figures reported in the millions.
Behind these numbers are mothers who have lost children, children who have lost parents, families separated from one another, elderly people left without support and survivors who have been displaced from their homes. Many women and children have witnessed the killing of loved ones, lost their livelihoods or spent years searching for missing relatives without answers.
Affected communities have been reported in areas including Wollega, Arsi, Metekel, Debre Birhan, Wollo and other parts of Ethiopia. We are particularly concerned about Amhara civilians in parts of the Oromia region who continue to face serious threats to their safety and survival.
We are not asking you to take a political position. We are asking you to look independently, investigate, verify the facts and listen directly to affected civilians and survivors.
After years of suffering, many people have lost hope that they can receive impartial protection or humanitarian assistance.
We urgently ask the international humanitarian community to assess whether these communities can be reached and whether assistance can be provided, including:
• Emergency food, water, shelter, and essential supplies
• Medical and health assistance
• Psychosocial and trauma support
• Protection and assistance for vulnerable women and children
• Support for internally displaced people
• Family tracing and assistance locating missing relatives
• Independent documentation and humanitarian needs assessments
• Access to isolated and rural communities
• Protection and humanitarian services for civilians facing ongoing threats
We understand that humanitarian organizations must verify information before intervening. Please investigate. Please speak with survivors. Please assess their needs directly.
If your organization cannot assist, please connect us with an organization that can. If you need documentation or additional information, please tell us what is required.
We are not asking you to solve everything.
We are asking you to listen.
We are asking you to look.
We are asking you to investigate.
Please do not allow civilians to disappear behind statistics, political narratives or silence.
After years of waiting, many families have almost completely lost hope. But we are still reaching out because these people deserve to be seen, heard, protected and helped.
Please treat this appeal as urgent and let us know what humanitarian assistance is available and where survivors can seek immediate help.
Even a response directing us to the right organization could mean everything to someone who feels completely abandoned.
Thank you
With desperation, grief and the small amount of hope we still have
