One year ago today, prominent journalist and Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif was killed by an Israeli airstrike on a media tent in Gaza City.
He was 28 years old and had been receiving threats for reporting on Israel’s war crimes prior to his assassination.
Taylor Swift has removed the audio of her song ‘august’ from a TikTok posted by Donald Trump’s team.
The caption read: “I’m sure Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!”

you see this red splotch covering Gaza? it is made of red dots, each single dot represents an airstrike under the Biden’s administration. it took two years of tremendous relentless unforgiving bombing and 4 US vetos to complete. you can’t regret your way out of this.

💬 | Aaron Dessner on recording “cardigan” with Taylor:
“That one's interesting. It's actually what you hear when that song starts. You hear the air conditioning in the backstage of an arena in Germany where The National was playing where I wrote it because it was really cold. But then that's me patting my leg, playing drums on my leg, which I often do, which I learned over time that if you record yourself playing surfaces or your body and record it with an iPhone, it just sounds cool. I wrote the music first and Taylor wrote to it. I think she said that when she heard that sound of what is me playing my thigh, essentially, that it reminded her of someone walking on cobble stones and high heels unevenly, and that gave her an image in her mind that led her into the narrative that she wrote.”
