@PennyBanksWAM Haha Ghandi wasn’t it? He was thinking of “Yes We Can”… which in this context isn’t seeming to be a good fit either.

We have not asked or encouraged anyone to withdraw their support/nomination or discouraged anyone from attending, and have reassured people privately that we will not be hurt or upset at all if they take part in his event.

(After all, we've got tickets to come along too!)

For the record - Messtival team immediately agreed when we found out about Jim's event that we would not ask for him to cancel it, nor make any attempt to have it cancelled by contacting venue etc as it would be unfair and disappointing for people who made plans to attend.

We are absolutely shocked to discover this and have no clue why MM did this.
This decision has undoubtedly contributed to people believing Jim's lies that he had authorisation to run our event.
This also prevented anyone with concerns from finding out how to contact us.

After several days of attempting to regain access to the Messtival UMD account, we have discovered that Messmaster had, for some unknown reason, deleted our account.
We were not notified of this and our account did not breach any terms.
We do not know when, or why this happened.

questions answered, or further reassurance of how appreciated you are and how there was no question that you would be invited back for our next event; I can make time to phone you if you need to hear it out loud. ❤️❤️

I'd just like to reiterate to all Messtival crew and volunteers how deeply sorry I am for any hurt caused by Jim's unauthorised use of Messtival branding, and his claims that I gave him my blessing to do so.

I will restrain myself from saying anything more at this point, and remain hopeful that the organiser will consider our proposed resolutions, but in the interests of transparency here is the entire conversation I had with him regarding Messtival.

I am thoroughly disappointed at the organiser's decision to block me and his refusal to answer my further questions to clarify his actions at certain points, and then to post publicly before we have completed our discussions, given our willingness to resolve this privately.

Unfortunately the organiser has chosen to release a statement before waiting to receive our proposed resolutions. I do not believe this is an honest and accurate representation of the facts, based on the evidence we have come across while investigating this.

Hi everyone, I would like to second this statement by my Messtival co-founder. I became aware of this event last night. None of the team gave permission for our branding to be used and we are in discussions to propose a suitable resolution to the organiser. Thank you.
