It's clear how much everyone really loves our events and was so excited for another Messtival - we don't want them to be punished for that by having it cancelled! But - we also don't want them disappointed after expecting a Messtival standard event

We have not asked or encouraged anyone to withdraw their support/nomination or discouraged anyone from attending, and have reassured people privately that we will not be hurt or upset at all if they take part in his event.

(After all, we've got tickets to come along too!)

For the record - Messtival team immediately agreed when we found out about Jim's event that we would not ask for him to cancel it, nor make any attempt to have it cancelled by contacting venue etc as it would be unfair and disappointing for people who made plans to attend.
