We call on @AndreaSCousins & @CarlHeastie to pass the Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (S4246/A5322) to save taxpayers $, protect health, stem the tide of plastic pollution, slow climate change, & get 12 of the most toxic chemicals out of packaging THIS SESSION.
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING🚨🚨🚨: @ReplaceJacobs is “renewing calls for Gov. Hochul to give the party chairman the boot, saying he’s to blame for Democrats’ poor performance in last year’s vital midterm elections.” #ReplaceJayJacobs https://t.co/cZh8O5ckPl
Bless you @nysfocus@akashvmehta@colinreads for already making the chart I was going to work on today. Excellent work.
Changing NY climate accounting would require significantly less emissions reduction in the next decade.

Truly baffled by the political instincts of @GovKathyHochul. This 11th hour dismantling of the CLCPA literally hands the opponents of climate action a victory on their terms. Don’t destroy our climate law behind closed doors. @CarlHeastie @AndreaSCousins

"Cornell University biochemist Robert Howarth, an expert on methane who helped craft the state’s current standard, said peeling it back would be a “travesty” that would undermine the foundations of the state’s climate plan." @howarth_cornell

Why are we fighting @GovKathyHochul's last minute budget play to upend how we calculate methane emissions?
Under this change, New York would suddenly have to cut one-third *less* emissions than currently required this decade.

Fossil fuel corporations are trying to gut New York’s historic climate law.
Fossil bill S6030/A6039 would reverse NY’s commitments to pollution reduction and climate leadership
@GovKathyHochul, kill the bill! #FossilFueledHochul
Help us beat this industry-led attack on NY’s climate law! Take 5 minutes to make 3 quick calls. We need to show our leaders that we won’t stand by as fossil fuel corporations destroy our climate law, our environment, and our health. https://t.co/S8BSBVo9ib
It would cost $100 billion to cut methane emissions by 80% in the oil and gas sector.
That sounds like a lot, but it's 3% of the profit fossil fuel companies made last year.
We have the money to prevent a climate crisis. We just need it to go to solutions, not stock buybacks.
We now have 1 full year's worth of data since the COP26 pledge of reducing anthropogenic methane 30% by 2030 was made in October, 2021.
The results? Methane is up by over 12 ppb to a new all-time high.
China and India have not signed the pledge.

A Republican majority in the House means U.S. Rep. @KathyCastorFL of #Florida won’t remain chair of the #climate change committee. Now, GOP leadership suggests the committee will be abolished. https://t.co/iu49NqifQX via @jacobogles
