@danielfoch@SteveSaretsky Not at any price higher than what the public would pay, particularly given all the red tape and consultations would probably add a multiple on top of the purchase price.
@DrJStrategy Agree that “refusing to let the housing market clear in this context is not prudence; it is self‑harm”.
But Carney is using tax dollars to bail out housing developers with unsold condos because they don’t want to sell for a loss. This is the OPPOSITE of letting housing clear.
These bills, along with C-22 and C-9 constitute a total erosion in Canada’s basic liberties. They interlock into making Canada essentially unviable for those with choices on where to build.
This is the point. Same will happen in all countries that will make social media age restrictions. “Won’t someone think of the children” is usually not about the children
the crazy thing about 90% of mainstream media outlets is that their owners are exclusively rich white dudes who got inheritance money from their dads without creating anything for society
@RepSaraJacobs Effective tax rate is dumb af.
If anything, people should pay fees ($) to the govt for services provided. And Elon pays more $ in taxes than anyone.
@PalmerLuckey@toly To be fair, I’d be ok with them taxing inherited wealth, in exchange for not taxing earned wealth.
The strongest lion still needs to teach his cubs how to hunt. Wealthy humans don’t need to teach their kids a thing.
@dropalltables Well, the self-proclaimed good guys are peddling bicycles, censoring free speech, and pushing medically assisted dying (looking at you 🇨🇦) so from their pov, they must believe Elon is doing evil.
