Greetings to all the new followers, I guess! In this house we know
1) Black lives matter
2) Trans rights are human rights
3) Fat phobia is bullshit
4) Big problems don't have simple solutions, and anyone who says they do is selling something
I mostly tweet about d&d.
The merger of @CapitalOne and @Discover threatens our financial stability, reduces competition, and would increase fees and credit costs for American families.
This Wall street deal is dangerous and will harm working people.
Regulators must block it immediately.
@Very__Regular ironically to use AI to create good art you probably need a grounding in doing it yourself manually. Learning and practicing a skill is what develops creativity, these guys don't understand that because they think it's "talent"
The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal.
I am glad I am able to fight back.
But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.
Most of you know I used to be a full-blown right-wing evangelical. Homophobic, transphobic, the whole bit.
So what changed my mind? With only mild exaggeration, it was this 2-minute music video right here: https://t.co/bXnbxaEyHp
Stories matter. Art matters. You never know.
A quote you won't be seeing from a politician today:
"The sickness of racism, excessive materialism and militarism. Not only is this our nation’s dilemma it is the plague of western civilization."
-- MLK
For the first time in my life I own left-handed scissors. I feel powerful. Unstoppable. Quick somebody give me something that needs the edges gently trimmed
I sometimes think about how many people I've gotten to play TTRPGs with because of participating in Critical Role fandom on here. Not sure if I'll ever be able to recapture that.
Where is that kind of community building these days? Are there discords or something?
That’s why I loved two of the biggest movies this year in Oppenheimer and Barbie. They didn’t have any messages or politics in them. Just were there to entertain and tell us about feminism, nuclear disarmament and senate hearings.
