the “gifted” treatment ruined my identity development, my social development, and my ability to actually learn. it made certain that i was ignored and not given help when i needed it, because i could be counted on to have high standardized test scores regardless of intervention.

the reason ppl in their 20s and 30s are still talking about this is because they were screwed up by being given the “gifted” treatment for almost all of their most formative years. stop telling us to shut up/grow up, we were traumatized and had our development stunted.

any attack on gender nonconformity is inherently rooted in transphobia regardless of the subject’s gender identity.
this is why the policing of men’s gender presentation if it’s “too feminine” is incompatible with trans liberation.
