Many people want to register a business in Nigeria but often get confused about where to even begin. Interestingly, this challenge also affects some young lawyers exploring corporate practice, especially since law school focuses more on theory than the practical side of business registration and compliance.
Most people hear “CAC” regularly, but many still do not fully understand the actual platform used for registrations and filings in Nigeria.
To simplify the process and give my little value, I just started a new educational series on Metalex Academy focused on business registration and company incorporation in Nigeria, breaking everything down step-by-step in a practical and easy-to-understand way.
The first video introduces the CAC ICRP Platform (https://t.co/vz4HpgY7DF), the official portal used for business registrations in Nigeria.
If you are an entrepreneur, startup founder, freelancer, business owner, or even a young lawyer looking to understand corporate practice better, this series is for you.

In 2021, immediately after Law School, I envisioned Lexquiry as more than just a publication.
Lexquiry was conceived as a LegalTech-focused product and ecosystem designed to document, curate, and promote global conversations around the future of law, legal innovation, and technology.
At the time, we saw a growing need to intentionally spotlight how technology was transforming legal practice globally, from legal operations and automation to digital platforms, AI, workflow systems, and emerging legal ecosystems.
Although we were only able to fully launch the publication aspect at the time, the vision itself was always much bigger.
Even in those early stages, Lexquiry was able to facilitate contributions and curated conversations with LegalTech founders, innovators, and professionals across the USA, UK, India, Nigeria, Australia, and some other parts of the world.
The goal was simple:
To contribute meaningfully, even in our little way, to the growing global LegalTech ecosystem by documenting ideas, innovation, tools, trends, and the people building the future of legal practice.
Today, I am excited that Lexquiry is returning with that same global vision, now powered by the @Metalex_legal Tech Club.
As we begin this new phase, our focus remains on:
▪️ Legal innovation
▪️ AI & Law
▪️ Digital transformation
▪️ Legal operations
▪️ Future-focused legal practice
▪️ Global LegalTech conversations and
▪️ Building meaningful connections across jurisdictions and industries.
We believe the future of law is evolving beyond traditional boundaries, and through Lexquiry and the Metalex Legal Tech Club, we hope to continue contributing to that future while creating greater global impact.

For decades, many people viewed law almost entirely through the lens of litigation and courtroom advocacy. But today, the legal profession is evolving rapidly.
Modern lawyers are now operating at the intersection of technology, business, innovation, governance, startups, data protection, fintech, media, compliance, and digital transformation.
The future of legal practice is no longer confined to courtrooms alone, it is increasingly embedded within industries, systems, platforms, and emerging technologies shaping society itself.
In our latest article, we explore why modern lawyers must think beyond litigation, how LegalTech and innovation are transforming the profession globally, the growing opportunities available to young lawyers, and why communities like the @Metalex_legal Tech Club are important in preparing future-ready professionals for a changing world.
The business of law is evolving, and the lawyers who thrive tomorrow may be those willing to adapt, innovate, build, and create value beyond traditional expectations.

Building a ride-hailing or logistics business in Nigeria involves far more than launching an app or onboarding drivers.
Transportation and logistics businesses operate within one of the most sensitive and operationally complex sectors because they directly involve:
▪️Public safety
▪️Human movement
▪️Commercial trust
▪️Driver relationships
▪️Delivery liabilities
▪️Data protection
▪️Regulatory compliance
This is why regulation within the sector remains extremely important.
From driver verification and operational liability to customer safety, platform governance, and transportation compliance, mobility businesses sit at the intersection of technology, law, infrastructure, and real-world operations.
As Nigeria’s digital economy continues to grow, it is also encouraging to see the rise of indigenous brands like Cruz creating real value within the mobility ecosystem and building solutions tailored to local realities.
In our latest article, we explore the legal, regulatory, and operational issues founders must understand when building logistics or ride-hailing businesses in Nigeria.
A timely and insightful read for founders, operators, investors, and anyone interested in the future of mobility innovation in Nigeria.

One thing I have come to understand while building is that many entrepreneurs, especially in Africa, are not just lacking ideas.
Sometimes, what we are lacking are:
▪️Access,
▪️Visibility,
▪️Collaboration,
▪️Structure,
▪️Funding opportunities and the,
▪️Right support systems.
A founder in Nigeria may need a technical partner in Ghana.
A startup in South Africa may need legal support for expansion.
An entrepreneur in Kenya may need investors or business collaborators outside their immediate network.
Yet many talented people still build in isolation.
This is part of the reason we started building the @metalexapp a while back.
The vision behind the platform is simple:
To create a system where entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, and legal experts can connect, collaborate, and create value beyond geographical limitations.
Through the @metalexapp, entrepreneurs will be able to:
▪️Connect with other entrepreneurs within their niche or industry,
▪️Find potential collaborators and business partners,
▪️Access legal and business support,
▪️Interact with professionals across different jurisdictions,
▪️Position their ideas, businesses, and services beyond their immediate environment.
At the same time, legal professionals will also be able to:
▪️Showcase their expertise,
▪️Connect with founders and businesses,
▪️Access opportunities across borders, and ▪️Build commercially relevant practices in the evolving digital economy.
Alongside this, we are also building the Metalex Practice Hub, a platform focused on helping legal professionals access practical resources, insights, tools, and guidance to help them stand out and create more value in modern legal practice.
For me personally, building will always be about creating something meaningful enough to outlive me.
At @Metalex_legal, @metalextech, and across the entire Metalex ecosystem, we may not become the biggest players in the industry, and that is fine.
But we want to contribute our own value in a meaningful way.
We want to build systems, opportunities, and platforms that genuinely help people grow, collaborate, and create lasting impact.

If you are a founder, or someone trying to build something great, understand that the journey may be tougher than you envisaged, and nobody is coming to save you. Or maybe someone eventually will, but you cannot build while waiting for that moment.
There are seasons where things move well and everything feels promising. There are also seasons where things slow down badly, opportunities become scarce, plans fail, money gets tight, and you quietly start questioning yourself.
That is the reality many people do not talk about enough.
But one thing I am learning is that difficult seasons are still seasons, and they pass too.
Sometimes you need to pause. Sometimes you need to rest, rethink, or rebuild parts of your life and business.
But never completely shut down.
Keep showing up, keep creating value, keep refining your craft, and keep positioning yourself.
You do not always have to force things or beg for opportunities. Sometimes your biggest responsibility is simply to keep building and putting your value into the world consistently.
A lot can change from one opportunity, one conversation, one breakthrough, or even one good season.
If you have read to this point, I need you to understand that this is not intended to be a motivational speech, but it is okay if you get motivated by it. This just something I have come to understand from experience.
Seasons come and go.
Just make sure you are still standing when the good ones arrive.

Many startups unknowingly enter regulated financial territory long before they consider themselves “fintech companies.”
In today’s digital economy, a simple feature like:
▪️Wallet functionality
▪️Payment processing
▪️Virtual accounts
▪️Transfers
▪️ Embedded finance
may attract regulatory, compliance, and operational implications many founders do not initially anticipate.
Our latest publication explores:
▪️Fintech licensing realities in Nigeria
▪️API integrations and embedded finance
▪️CBN-related considerations
▪️Compliance risks startups often overlook
▪️Why some businesses may not need full licences initially
▪️The legal and operational issues founders should understand before integrating financial features into their platforms
As technology and finance continue to intersect, innovation must be matched with structure, governance, and regulatory awareness.
An insightful read for: founders, fintech startups, product builders, developers, corporate professionals, and businesses integrating financial technology into their operations.
