On this occasion we are releasing the article in advance so Players have some time to review their existing Quests. As a courtesy, our team has already cleared & auto refunded all $E Quests and also cleared all Quests created before the storage space check systems were deployed, but we still urge Players to check any remaining active Quests before RT7 drops, as when it drops, Quests will be open for completion inside #E2V1.
As always, this will be a major release with a lot of large, complicated new systems being deployed, so there is always a chance things can go wrong - therefore if something does go wrong please give the team some breathing room & time to get things right! Once this release is fairly stable we will be pushing forward on the next one.

#E2V1 0.3.6.2 is currently deploying. It include new improvements to the global water interactive system which should resolve issues Players experienced after instant teleportation to any location on Earth🌍✌️

We also implemented numerous updates to a number of core inventory & item management systems in anticipation of Reality Thread 7, but also to fix some remaining issues since Reality Thread 6 & to ensure it is more robust for long term development.
We have been working on the 0.3.6.2 updates while also focusing on Reality Thread 7 features.
Please check the article above for further details, but the main updates in this version are:
1⃣ An additional fix release for water detection after teleporting, along with fixes for additional water detection issues.
2⃣ Fixed an issue that caused crafting recipes to fail sometimes.
3⃣ Fix #2 above resulted in a further rework of most existing Character systems. These changes improve overall system reliability and also update systems in preparation for Reality Thread 7.
4⃣ An additional fix applied to the invisible leg issue affecting some Characters.
5⃣ Inventory logic adjusted so:
• LMB moves a single item
• RMB moves all items
This is now universal across all systems and applies when swapping items between Inventory, Foraging, Crafting and Mentar Storage.
6⃣ Action Bar “Use Item” logic updated to improve syncing with backend services. Players may notice a small delay between item usage. This delay is expected for now and will be refined further as part of a UX improvement pass.
7⃣ Added the ability to manually resync Character Inventory. This is not required during normal play as syncing occurs automatically, but the manual option exists for cases where unexpected item display behaviour occurs, allowing Players to attempt resolution themselves.
8⃣ Fixed several spatial sound effect (SFX) issues.
9⃣ Additional bug fixes and general improvements.
The global water system is very complicated & the updates to the core inventory systems are not trivial, so there may be issues QA has missed over the past 2 weeks of testing, so as always please be patient with the team, report any problems & we will monitor the release closely & fix any issues that may arise.

Heads up that #E2V1 v0.1.3.3 has just been released for closed #PreAlpha testers 🌍✌️
This update involves a some fixes & updates made by the team over the past 24-48 hours which will be officially listed in the #RealityThread4 when it's released.
But the main reason for this release is to unlock the glider to testers before it is officially released with crafting. Testers can activate the glider using the F hotkey for now, but when crafting is released it will be an item available in inventory after you craft it.
Just a note, if you are on version v0.1.3.2 & come across another #Player floating through the sky (who already updated to v0.1.3.3) then you know why 🪂

Important Update for all E2V1 testers 🌍✌️
This is an important update for all testers. Please download the new E2V1 version 0.1.3.2 released about 1 hour ago - we have set it so the previous build 0.1.3.1 will not have access to the multiplayer so you will need to download the new version to connect.
If you are testing the multiplayer with other Players and you cannot see the other Player/s you think should be visible, please save your Character and respawn. If that does not work then restart E2V1 and reconnect. We are working on improvements to intermittent multiplayer connection drops for Players without stable internet which will be updated in next versions. Remember, generally if you can see your Ping in the lower right corner, it means you're connected to the multiplayer server, however, there are some cases where you're ping doesn't clear when a disconnection occurs so just follow the above steps if you're not seeing other Characters you expect to see.
If you are steaming or posting videos, please try to note your actual real world location (where you are using E2V1 in the real world) and also note you're testing on a server in Singapore. This will help us and others understand the ping we see in the lower right corner for the stream or recording better. If you are closer to Singapore, you should get lower ping but the ping will increase the further away you are. As you can see in the video I posted on X/Twitter yesterday my ping is in the lower right corner, I usually get 18-25ms ping based in Australia to the Singapore server on a standard NBN connection.
So individual Ping WILL CHANGE depending on where you are located in the world, what your internet connection is like, whether you use WiFi or ethernet cable and how far away you are from the current multiplayer location server we're using which is in Singapore at the moment (we will change to Europe and America to test results in those locations as well later).
Also important, local time zone time inside build 0.1.3.2 may update one every 5 minutes from the time your Character spawns. That is 5 real world minutes, so equivalent to 20 minutes inside E2V1. The dev team are just testing something and so just keep this in mind if you are comparing times with other Players if you don't see the exact same time in the same E2V1 time zone it might be because the dev team is testing something.
The multiplayer is back on now so go for it again everyone and the team will keep monitoring!
Try and gather as many testers as you can in one area so we can see how E2V1 handles the rendering (multiplayer network side should handle it fine but we'd like to see the in game rendering limitations with real testers).

I know I was a little quiet throughout Q2, as was #Earth2 in general, but it's because we're so busy designing, implementing, testing, building.
Remember, we are still in Pre-Alpha & this will be our first playable release of #E2V1, probably our biggest software release to date!
We are still a few days away on the build, just fixing a few known bugs, mainly bugs around the new inventory system, specifically regarding management between the Discovery Box & the Inventory.
The article explains the purpose behind testing, so our expectation is for #Players to stay close to their properties to test a few things out because you will be prone to dying easily the further you stray, especially if you don't have a natural water supply close by & food to forage & sustain you.
I guess some might be up for the challenge to see how far they can go but that is not our expectation for this initial #RealityThread release!

I don't believe the #Metaverse should be confined to a single genre, aesthetic or style & that has been an intentional approach from the start. It’s more of a platform that, at its core, will (at least initially) be shaped by diverse elements of the internet, including various aspects of gaming, which will serve as the framework for establishing foundational rules for life, engagement & interactivity within this emerging world - something that will become apparent with the early mechanics inside #E2V1.
While the #LimitedEdition #skin drops will slow down after the remaining sets are cleared, we will continue expanding into new genres & styles by way of more traditional unlimited, time-based drops, continuing to empower our #Players to shape & define their identity as part of the deeper immersion within #Earth2 & possibly branching off into role playing, which I see as becoming part of experiences over time.
Also, an important note that when skin customisation is available it will come with risk & reward, so the #Player will need to decide on whether to customise a skin or not, as when a skin is customised, it will not be revertible back to its original state.
This means the rarity of the original authentic version of the skin can potentially increase the more times that specific skin is customised by other #Players, the flip side being that a well customised skin could literally become 1 of a kind.

🚨#Earth2 update 🌏✌️
First I'd like to apologise to our community for the lateness of this message. I was still considering a traditional last timezone #Q2 release but honestly we could use a little more time. As you can see in the screen recording, we've been extremely busy the past 3 months with multiple commits per day on average from our dev team & this recording is only of commits made directly to our #E2V1 repository.
It does not include #BE / Server repository commits or tasks completed for custom development from our VFX, SFX, Concept Art & Animation teams or the countless other points of progressive development.
While there are some in our community who would better understand what multiple daily repo commits means, the video footage just helps others to visualise how much work goes into the development of just one facet of Earth 2, and even though we may not publish a lot of public updates, we are extremely busy & focused on development & progress behind the scenes. Sometimes you lose track of time with so many different developments in progress.
Excitingly for everyone, Chapter 1 is a very big release for us & includes some very important updates that will introduce the foundations for activity & experiences inside #E2V1. There are many moving parts & many new mechanisms we've had to design, develop & implement into an incredibly large, seamless, open world just to make Chapter 1 possible.
We're also building a persistent world, meaning we're not just developing for a single player local PC environment, which would be much, much easier, but instead requires a lot of API & server integration for almost every feature implemented - and that doesn't even involve the multiplayer networking element which we've also made good progress on throughout #Q2. We're not implementing API & server integration only for a persistent world, but also to mitigate against hacking.
I just wanted to provide this update & apologise for the lateness of this notification. Remember, we are still in a pre-alpha stage so there are inevitably going to be bugs & issues. Seeing as though we are going to miss #Q2 anyway, we could use another week or two to fix some known bugs & make it a little smoother. It won't be longer than that & even though it's not a lot of additional time in the big picture, I still said #Q2 & I apologise that we are going to overshoot that time frame.
We will aim to publish an article this weekend to provide everyone with an in depth explanation behind the early access release & I think that article will help our community understand just how much work has gone into the past 3 months by our team.
I guess I could have made this post short & sweet but I wanted to provide additional context so thanks for reading through.
To end on a more positive note, hands on play testing has been very eye opening to possibilities & immersion #E2V1 offers. There are so many opportunities waiting & so many directions to take .. it really is very exciting. Another positive point is I believe this will be the final quarter of waiting in boredom / pain as moving forward we'll have feet on the ground inside #E2V1 & once it is stable we will be able to release subsequent updates faster.

To put this into perspective, it would currently take a single #T1 tile over 50M years to mine 67M $ESS, a #T2 tile over 150M years. Currently a single base #T1 tile takes around 277 days to mine a single $ESS, a single base #T2 around 833 days - and this is with daily logins to claim and transform! Keep in mind these figures are only relevant before the first halving event which will more or less double all duration above making it longer to mine each single $ESS.
We had a big backlog to get through from easier days in the past, but at some point I believe this reality will catch up.. and on top of that we're lingering on the dawn of #E2V1.
It's inspiring to see so much #land & $ESS locked up, even for the short term rewards & incoming #Earth2Hordes minigame. Seeing the long-term belief & support #Players have for not only for the platform, but also increasing the #Utility of their land is really driving.
But I believe in the not too distant future some #Players will have to start making more calculated choices on how they want to use their #land, $ESS & other byproducts as we continue to introduce features & mechanisms that expand the #utility for $ESS, #Land & more across the platform.

This update is no longer a simple avatar release but a significant update to the entire foundation of the #E2V1 world. When I first talked about dropping avatars I was eager to keep things moving and referred to a very simple system to test skins and movement, then to subsequently implement the full version after that.
While this approach would have brought new content out quickly, it could have turned into weeks of extra development time with little upside for the wider community, apart from testing the movement and appearance of the avatars, there would have been little else to do until another subsequent update.
Therefore I made the decision to focus solely on implementing the core part of the full system we plan to use long term on the platform.
I apologise that this release will take a little longer than originally anticipated, having moved away from the initial lower spec'd plan, but I'd like to get this right & ready for a wider audience to start using and enjoying. As much as I'd love to push out updates faster, I will be taking this approach to #E2V1 development in the future as well.
The plan will still be to release to our testing group first after our internal QA, test and then stabilise. If all looks good and we're happy with how everything is performing, we will push forward with a public release.
There will inevitably be ongoing adjustments, additions and tweaks to these type of systems over time.
It may seem like a long time, but #E2V1 was only released to our testing group 7 weeks ago! How crazy is that? I know for me it feels like many months already.
Nonetheless, during this short period of time we have not only released a couple of updated versions, and an updated version to the Earth 2 Launcher, but the team has also been working incredibly hard on the #E2V1 and #BE mechanics for the Chapter 1 systems - and there is a lot involved in this upcoming release.
We will be dropping an article later this week, which I believe will help our community understand the extensive list of features planned for this release and in turn explain why it is taking a little longer. I'd rather not spoil all of the details, but the article contains a lot of information about the various systems we're developing including rules of life, avatar synthesisation, death, saving, skins, day/night cycles, free to play model, avatar vitals, how land ownership fits in with all of this and much more. It is important to keep in mind that each of these systems needed to be designed and implemented, which takes time.
The article will also begin to reveal some of the design plans I have been working on to increase utility for T1 land, which will also include various T1 classes. I also intend to follow through and expand utility on T1 land into other upcoming mechanics on the platform, some of which will be revealed in a separate article in the near future and are also part of the Chapter 1 release.
Ideally, all going well, we will be testing early multiplayer at some stage this quarter and as mentioned earlier this year #Hordes in Q3, #EggHunt in Q4 & maybe some early buildings on properties. In addition to these goals, we have a couple of wild card features floating around in between as well.
I know I reiterate it from time to time, but the long term goal for #Earth2 has not changed. We are building a #geolocational #metaverse - a platform! We still want #Players building cities, providing more individualised experiences, advertising, trading, shopping, e-commerce, socialising and so forth. And I still have plans to link #E2V1 into #AR and support #VR, but we cannot do all of this at once. I am also looking at ways we can expand the team and setup a studio, probably in East Asia, to speed up development.
The current features we're focusing on plan to expand utility for land on a wide scale & introduce various experiences inside #E2V1, providing potential benefits for land owners & #Players alike on a broader level, while at the same time allowing our team to introduce mechanics that will be used throughout the future of the platform, test limitations and work our way around challenges as they arise.
