It is both saddening and disappointing that it still happens in 2024 after having years of organizing big events such as this. While it is understandable that events are hard to organize but with years of experience, everyone would expected better from the organizers.

31 players, 7 Swiss rounds, Top 8 cut:
7 rounds: 1 player @ 4-3 makes it, 7.5 miss.
5 rounds: 2 players @ 3-2 make it, and 7.5 still miss.
Why add 2 extra rounds if it just bubbles out more players? 🤔

Worse still, rules and regulations were not communicated until event day. Players were handed double losses during timeouts with no chance to negotiate—even when they were 1 turn away from finishing. Denying players a fair chance to complete their games is harsh and unfair to their scores.

Yes, top players will likely make it regardless, but it’s about more than that. A fair and healthy environment benefits everyone. Organizers, please consult the broader community, not just a select few, when planning events.

A well-structured tournament helps the game grow. Let’s do better. 🙌

@KhaleelNdanusa With the direction Viamance is going, I don't think a Diabolos Marjorie would be a good fit (unless they change the cost a little). I really hoped that they include changes to the rideline. That's the most important one at the moment.
