@SusanWaDC1@feederofcats A lot of pet insurance companies are owned by the same private equity groups that are buying up and destroying vet practices. The coverage can also be expensive depending on location and generally not worth it.
@SorayaSpaghetti tbh the abduction scene in Disclosure Day came across in a pretty upsetting manner. not sure how much of that was intentionally referencing csa as opposed to general scariness
do u think a really upset king was ever pouting on his throne when he heard the jingle jingle of his jester running towards him and cracked a lil smile cause he knew everything was gonna be alright
@yandjoshi These aren't spicy but Lynn Messina and Sophie Irwin both do an amazing job of historically accurate plots and characters while still writing in a way that makes the motivations and lives of people back then make sense to more modern sensibilities
@TheRealRathole@s0upworld their office's $25000 echart software made DAW the default setting for all rx for some reason so you have to manually change it every time and sometimes the doc or nurse forgets and no one can figure out how to change the settings. just a guess
@robbytummy Americans don't go around pronouncing "croissant" the way a French person would. Pretentious.
Assimilation has been a primary goal for immigrants for centuries, probably bc it helps temper discrimination. Only recently have immigrant populations been empowered to ask for better
@robbytummy Maybe just bc of the lengthy history of Spanish/English language mingling here? Also, u get looked at as pretentious if you pronounce a foreign name correctly. An immigrant wanting their name to be pronounced as it is in their native tongue is also a fairly new phenomenon here
