Soil arsenic levels alone may not correlate strongly with arsenic concentrations in rice grain.

Mason Stahl explains how direct sampling and machine learning can help researchers study the environmental conditions that influence arsenic uptake.

Can cicadas change how water moves through soil?

Dr. Darren Ficklin’s team found infiltration was nearly 80% higher where cicada burrows were present in forested landscapes, but found no measurable difference in compacted urban soils.

Install the ring. Connect the hoses. Push start.

SATURO automates infiltration measurement and calculates field saturated hydraulic conductivity (Kfs) during the test, delivering downloadable or on-screen results while you're still on-site.

Crop coefficients describe typical water use of a crop type, but field conditions vary. Measuring actual ET gives growers site-specific data they can use alongside precipitation and soil moisture to support irrigation planning.
