CO2 stays in the atmosphere for 100 years, so reducing CO2 emissions 10 years from now will still get us 90% of the benefit of curbing emissions now. Methane only stays in the atmosphere for 10 but dose 130 times the heating of CO2. We can't wait 10 years to stop methane.
