@Mozho_M @LindseyGrahamSC Realistically, the regime was never going to be toppled without a massive ground invasion to back up air raids. Even then, we saw from Afghanistan that the Taliban could not be eliminated. Long term occupation was required just to keep them at bay. Iran is even harder with IRGC.

@KMooreGilbert There is the religious dimension that is often overlooked in these discussions. Many Republicans are strongly religious, viewing modern Isreal as a sign to the world preceding the return of Jesus Christ. Modern Israel in their view should be defended at all cost.
