Approved: 2025 and 2026 cross-country state meet will be held in Memphis, followed by a rotation between Memphis, Hendersonville and Knoxville every two years.
Congratulations and appreciation to Oak Ridge HS Head Coach Ed Wright for designing the newest course in the Metro Knoxville area. Yesterday he directed the inaugural meet there called The Mounds #1 and it was a smashing success. Great job Ed. Looking forward to many meets there.
Boo. XC is supposed to be hard and not supposed to be about times. Just hard head to head racing. Making nearly 50 years of history obsolete. Sad. The sport is evolving to track on grass. Boring.
Athletes:
Want to consistently run PRs this spring?
Start by getting better sleep habits.
• Try to put your phone down 30-60 min earlier
• Hit the hay 15-20 minutes earlier than normal on Sunday nights.
Ingrain these habits now and you'll be ready to race faster in May.
Serious high school runners need to train hard enough this winter to advance their fitness, yet not so hard that they're mentally fatigued when racing starts in March.
Pace yourself.
Let's go!
I love that John Grisham is at the NCAA cross-country champs...
and that they made him make picks on national TV...at his 1st cross-country meet. He handled it like a champ.
