It always feels like FIFA does everything it can to give Argentina the easiest possible route to the semifinals. After all, with over half the football world supporting Argentina, keeping them in the tournament for as long as possible is good for business, isn't it?
Embarrassing performance from Germany! We German fans wait patiently for a German win, and this is what we get?? They were outstanding in the first two matches, then completely fell apart in this one! David Raum!! What a trash!! And Manuel Neuer is literally ruining his legacy!!
tweeting after nearly a year—not that anyone was aware of my absence nonetheless. Though I hardly have any friends here to attest to that, I hope everyone is doing fantastic!
As a German fan I'm happy with the win, but the real test is still ahead. We will have to see how we perform against Côte d'Ivoire- they have already beaten one of the strongest teams, France.
💡 Lights on, Let's see the game clearly 🕵🏻♂️
Die Mannschaft 🇩🇪
Germany; Four time World Cup winners now a nation that hasn't lifted a major trophy in 12 years and hasn't even gotten out of the group stage in their last two attempts at the world cup.
In 2026 they have the opportunity to try again and something feels genuinely different this time. The man responsible for that difference is Julian Nagelsmann.
After back to back group stage humiliations in 2018 and 2022 Nagelsmann has revitalized the German machine. Eight straight wins in warm up matches, a squad playing with intensity, aggression and a tactical identity that finally feels modern and exciting. The sleeping giant seems to have waken up from it's slumber.
Let's talk about the talent first.
Florian Wirtz' a gifted attacking midfielders Carries the creative load for Nagelsmann's side, Saves his best performances for Germany consistently.
Jamal Musiala. Germany's most unpredictable weapon, Returned from serious injury and walked straight back into the national squad. When Musiala is at his best he is unplayable in tight spaces, the kind of player who unlocks games with moments of individual brilliance.
both of them combine to form the WIRTZIALA creative engine.
Kimmich and Pavlovic as the double pivot. Havertz, Wirtz and Musiala operating in the space behind opposition midfields, It's a system built on technical quality, quick combinations and relentless pressing and when it works ... an absolute beauty to behold.
Nagelsmann has brought something Germany have lacked for years tactical flexibility. He changes formations and structures depending on the opponent.
So far so good. This is the most exciting Germany squad in over a decade.
But here's where it gets complicated.
Germany's tactical identity under Nagelsmann is built on intensity, aggressive pressing and dominance in the opponent's half. Outside defenders press high, the entire team hunts the ball collectively. However that beautiful, relentless aggression leaves enormous space in behind.
This is the risk that nobody is talking about loudly enough.
When Germany's press is bypassed one precise pass over the top, one quick transition before the defensive line resets the space behind Rüdiger and company is vast and completely exposed, against a team with genuine pace and clinical counter attacking ability that's not just a problem it's a crisis waiting to happen.
Then there's another concern Germany travel without a true out and out centre forward. The No.9 role remains the biggest open question in Nagelsmann's lineup with Havertz, Undav and Woltemade all competing for the position. A team without a settled striker going into a World Cup is a team that could struggle to convert pressure into goals when the chances are limited.
The machine is revitalized, the talent is real the identity is exciting but the most dangerous systems in football always carry the most dangerous risks and Germany's risk is written all over their tactical DNA.
Germany should be able to get out of their group this time although i feel it would be a hard fought qualification with Ecuador, Ivory Coast and Curacao awaiting in their group.
But in the knockout rounds when the margins tighten and the opposition gets better that space in behind Nagelsmann's aggressive press will be the difference between glory and another painful exit.
Until next time. Stay Zen. 💙

@LadyLestrange2 I thoroughly enjoyed the novel. Seeing Medusa's story from a new perspective was a powerful experience.Additionally, there is another work by Jessie Burton concerning Medusa, which was commendable yet rather undervalued.
Just watched #Sinners— absolutely breathtaking!
A powerful blend of mystery, music, and emotion, this film had me hooked from start to finish.
It’s not just a movie — it’s an unforgettable experience.
Highly recommended! 🎬🔥
